Nord Stream 2 completes second pipeline string, ready for full operation
The second string of Nord Stream-2 has completed gas loading, the pipeline is completely ready to start operation, a source from Russia confirmed.
Gazprom head Alexey Miller announced this at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 29 about the ongoing autumn-winter heating season.
"At 12:58 Moscow time (December 29), Gazprom completed the gas loading into the second string of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. Currently, both the first and second strings of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline are ready for operation and fully operational," Putin said.

Fill the second string of the pipeline
On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the completion of gas injection into the second string of the Nord Stream-2 pipeline.
"Now, given the difficult situation of our foreign partners, Russia has the opportunity to increase gas exports," Putin said at a meeting on the adoption of the autumn-winter heating season.
"In October, the first string of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline was filled with technical gas," Putin said.
Nord Stream 2 will help stabilize prices in the European market
He added that this new additional route will certainly "solve the problem of price stabilization in the European market." During the meeting, Putin asked to talk not only about this issue, but also about "how the situation is developing in Europe today," because the main customers of Russian gas are located there.
At the same time, the head of the Russian state stressed that the priority of the development of gas infrastructure is sustainable supply, first of all to the domestic market. In this regard, a large-scale program of gasification of Russian regions has been launched, Mr. Putin said.
