Provincial Party Secretary congratulates Tet in Que Phong district

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of February 1, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council came to wish the cadres, soldiers and people of Que Phong district a Happy New Year 2016.

Also attending were representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police, the Provincial Border Guard; the Departments of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Health.

The Provincial Party Secretary visited and extended New Year greetings to the Standing Committee of Que Phong District Party Committee. In 2015, Que Phong District continued to achieve many outstanding results in many fields. In general, the people's living conditions were stable and significantly improved. Policies and regimes for people in remote, isolated and extremely disadvantaged areas were well implemented.

In particular, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2016, the district organized a Tet for the people resettled at Hua Na Hydropower Plant; organized meetings and presented gifts to village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people among the Mong and Kho Mu people. The district also coordinated with the Border Guard Command and other agencies to successfully organize "Warm Tet at the border, helping children go to school" in the border commune of Tri Le.

Leaders of Que Phong district presented flowers to congratulate comrade Ho Duc Phoc on being elected to the 12th Party Central Committee.

Responding to the appeal letter of the Provincial Party Secretary, officials, party members and people of the district, together with the help of businesses, philanthropists, organizations and individuals, actively supported Tet for the poor with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND.

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc acknowledged and commended the results that Que Phong district achieved in 2015; at the same time, requested the district to continue to focus on directing the effective implementation of socio-economic development goals; hunger eradication and poverty reduction associated with new rural construction, building and replicating economic models; and effectively fighting against drug abuse.

On the occasion of Lunar New Year, comrade Ho Duc Phoc emphasized that the district must focus on taking care of the people, especially poor households and the poor, and organize cultural, sports and entertainment activities in accordance with customs and practices.

At these locations, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc kindly inquired about the health and lives of the people; hoped that the people would overcome difficulties, actively work and produce, and strive to escape poverty sustainably.
