Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong: 'The Public Security Party Committee needs to pay special attention to Party building work'

On the morning of September 21, at the Party Central Headquarters, the collectivePolitburoworked with the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee, giving opinions on draft documents and personnel work to be submitted to the 7th Public Security Party Congress, term 2020-2025.

General Secretary, PresidentNguyen Phu Trong chaired the meeting. Also attending were: Politburo member, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Politburo member, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Politburo members; leaders of central departments, branches and agencies.

The Politburo highly appreciated the preparations for the Congress and the draft documents and personnel plans for the 7th Congress.Public Security Party Committee, is implemented seriously, methodically, responsibly, in accordance with the spirit of Directive 35-CT/TW and the Central's guiding documents.

The Politburo agreed to evaluate the past term and the Party Committee.Central Policeled and directed the entire force to thoroughly grasp and comprehensively deploy all aspects of work, successfully completing the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 6th Party Congress of the Public Security, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress, in which many tasks were well and excellently completed.

The Party Committee of the Public Security has focused on doing well the work of Party building, seriously implementing the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee of the 11th and 12th terms and Directive 05 of the Politburo, in conjunction with the Campaign to build the style of a People's Public Security officer with courage, humanity, serving the people, the movement "Studying and implementing Uncle Ho's 6 teachings" and the emulation movements "For the security of the Fatherland"; strengthening the absolute and direct leadership in all aspects of Party committees at all levels over public security work; synchronously and effectively implementing tasks and breakthroughs in Party building work; improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations.

Inspection and supervision work has been strengthened, thereby detecting and strictly handling violating officials, correcting and overcoming limitations and shortcomings, strengthening internal solidarity, and maintaining discipline and order.

The Politburo acknowledged the outstanding results of the Public Security Party Committee in the past term, which was to lead and direct the arrangement of organization, apparatus and cadres in the direction of streamlining, reducing intermediate levels, strengthening the direct leadership of the Central Public Security Party Committee, while ensuring stability, effective operation, and good implementation of the 12th Central Resolution 6, creating clear changes in reality.

The Central Public Security Party Committee has focused on leading and directing the work of grasping, analyzing, evaluating, and forecasting the situation, avoiding being passive and surprised, promptly advising the Party and State on many appropriate policies, strategies, and solutions to meet immediate and long-term requirements. National security and social order and safety are ensured, especially in strategic areas and large cities; maintaining a peaceful and stable environment to continue building and developing the country.

The entire force has resolutely deployed measures to prevent, detect, and effectively combat plots and activities of reactionary and opportunistic political elements that sabotage the Party and the State; absolutely protected the safety of the country's important political targets and events; effectively fought and prevented manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation," and protected internal political security; synchronously and effectively deployed measures to ensure network security and safety; implemented the policy of "combining national defense and security with economy, economy with national defense and security"; proactively resolved emerging issues of social security and security among ethnic groups and religions; actively participated in the work of preventing and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

The police force has done a good job of preventing, stopping, and suppressing all kinds of crimes, solving many major economic and corruption cases; effectively fighting against crimes in the fields of environment, smuggling, and high technology; breaking up many large, transnational drug trafficking and transportation rings, many complicated drug dens; effectively solving many complicated emerging problems such as "black credit," crimes with foreign elements... ensuring social order and safety, and preserving a peaceful life for the people.

Regarding the direction and tasks for the coming time, the Politburo emphasized that the Party Committee of the Public Security needs to pay special attention to Party building work, building a clean and strong People's Public Security force, absolutely loyal to the Party, closely attached to the people, selfless for the country, serving the people; building the force in the direction of "a refined Ministry, a strong province, a comprehensive district, and a grassroots commune".

Along with document work, the Central Public Security Party Committee has conducted personnel preparation work seriously and democratically, in accordance with Directive 35-CT/TW of the Politburo and Central guidelines, ensuring quantity, standards and structure.

Concluding the meeting, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong agreed with the profound assessments and dedicated contributions of the Politburo members; and at the same time emphasized three issues that the Public Security Party Committee needs to focus on in the leadership and direction of the next term.

The General Secretary and President emphasized the position, role and importance of the Vietnam People's Public Security, together with the Vietnam People's Army, as two birds of peace, two important forces, the sword and the shield to maintain political security, social order and safety, creating a favorable environment to build and protect the country. Deeply aware of the role, position and importance, from there clearly see the responsibility, sacred duty, but also the honor of the People's Public Security force.

The General Secretary and President pointed out: To ensure the country is peaceful, internally united, and supported by the people... requires the police force to be truly worthy, to make efforts, and to be determined to fulfill its noble mission, to protect and maintain security, order, and social safety, to prevent corruption, to maintain peace inside and outside, to clean itself, to reorganize the apparatus, to tighten discipline, to coordinate well with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and National Defense, to do a good job of foreign affairs, to maintain peace and security.

The General Secretary and President noted that the police force needs to continue to innovate its methods of operation in line with the practical work and combat in the period of international integration; proactively do a good job of grasping, researching, and forecasting the situation, and accurately advising on policies and solutions to successfully carry out the task of protecting security and order in the new situation; not to be passive or surprised; resolutely, persistently, and consistently maintain the Party and State's viewpoints and policies on fighting against corruption and waste.

The General Secretary and President hopes that the police force will continue to promote its glorious tradition, protect the achievements of the revolution, and absolutely not be satisfied or complacent, leading to subjectivity and loss of vigilance.

The police force needs to have stronger changes, maintain political security, social order and safety; continue to rectify the organization, perfect the apparatus to be streamlined, strong, and strong; build the force, build the organization, build clean, exemplary, and honest people; do not do bad things for position, power, or money; internally, we must unite, and not lose the prestige and honor of the People's Police, because honor is the most sacred and noble thing.

The General Secretary and President believes that the Vietnam People's Public Security Force will continue to strive to fulfill its assigned tasks, always ready to forget itself for the country, serve the people, and as long as the Party exists, it exists. The People's Public Security soldier must always be pure, maintain moral qualities and lifestyle, worthy of the tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Public Security.

The General Secretary and President hopes that the police force will always closely coordinate with the military force and relevant agencies, resolutely fight against corruption and negativity, and clean up the state apparatus.
