HUMAN TRAFFICKING CRIMES ARE COMPLEX
Opening the rally, comrade Ha Thi Nga - President of the Vietnam Women's Union said that the crime situation in recent times has remained complicated, with many new types of transnational crimes appearing. Crimes of violence and abuse against women and children have increased, with many cases being particularly serious.
Regarding human trafficking crimes, in the first 6 months of 2020, 60 cases were discovered nationwide, involving 85 subjects, defrauding and selling 90 victims (a decrease of 31.5% in the number of cases, an increase of 40% in the number of subjects and a decrease of 39.7% in the number of victims compared to the same period in 2019), the majority of victims were women and children.

The method of committing the crime is to organize illegal exit for seasonal labor, then trick and sell them into forced labor or prostitution, into marriage, or even into organ trafficking; the exploitation of women and children in rural, mountainous, and border areas, and ethnic minorities with limited education and difficult economic circumstances to commit cross-border trafficking occurs frequently.
Since May 10, 2016, the Government decided to take July 30 every year as“National Day against human trafficking.The rally aims to raise awareness and skills to prevent and combat human trafficking for members, women and people.
In some cases, the criminals are the victims of human trafficking, including cases of going abroad to sell their children after birth; cases of illegal human trafficking are also complicated.
In recent times, propaganda work on preventing human trafficking has also had fundamental changes, contributing to raising awareness and action in the whole society on preventing and combating human trafficking, reducing risks and crimes related to human trafficking, promoting safe migration and supporting victims of human trafficking to return and reintegrate into the community.

Mr. Brett Dickson - Acting Chief Representative of the United Nations Migration Agency in Vietnam recalled the tragedy of 39 Vietnamese people dying in a container in the UK and said that it is time to end human trafficking in Vietnam and around the world.
The Acting Chief Representative of the United Nations Migration Agency in Vietnam requested the government, international organizations, and the entire society to continue joining hands to prevent human trafficking, increase support for victims, and bring traffickers to justice. At the same time, he affirmed that he will always stand side by side with Vietnam to end human trafficking.

STRIVE TO ELIMINATE HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that in recent times, Nghe An has directed functional agencies, organizations, and localities to synchronously and drastically deploy solutions to prevent and combat human trafficking crimes in particular, promote socio-economic development, create jobs, improve people's lives, especially in mountainous and border areas, and limit the causes and conditions for human trafficking crimes.

In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to promote state management of security and order, associated with socio-economic development in mountainous and remote areas; strengthen propaganda, raise people's awareness of preventing and combating human trafficking; direct functional forces to attack and resolutely suppress human trafficking crimes, associated with supporting and helping victims of trafficking to return to their localities and stabilize their lives.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee called on every citizen to always raise their vigilance, protect themselves and their loved ones to avoid becoming victims of human trafficking for the safety, health, development, equality, happiness of each person, each family and for a better future of the whole society.
Speaking at the rally, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh said that in recent years, human trafficking crimes have become more complicated, causing particularly serious consequences for human rights and negatively impacting many aspects of the economy and society.

"Human trafficking is the third highest-earning crime, after drug crimes and arms trafficking. Victims suffer enormous psychological and physical damage. The consequences do not stop at individuals and families, but also affect society, posing a potential risk to social and political security," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
In the coming time, comrade Truong Hoa Binh suggested that all levels, sectors and localities continue to promote propaganda, raise people's awareness and actively denounce human trafficking crimes.

At the same time, focus on implementing the economic development plan, creating jobs, and reducing poverty for people, especially those in mountainous and remote districts. At the same time, focus on supporting disadvantaged families at risk of being victims of human trafficking through vocational training and entrepreneurship.
Continue to launch a nationwide movement to prevent human trafficking; proactively detect and prevent activities related to human trafficking crimes, especially in border areas.
Build a posture to prevent and combat human trafficking, improve the effectiveness of investigation, prosecution and trial of cases; closely coordinate with countries and international organizations to prevent, stop and investigate human trafficking rings, and promptly rescue victims.
