Chinese tourists flock to Vietnam in 7 months
In the first 7 months of this year, more than 1.5 million Chinese tourists visited Vietnam. This is the group of tourists who spend the most money when traveling abroad.

Of which, arrivals by air reached 4.66 thousand, arrivals by road reached 806.4 thousand, arrivals by sea reached 86.3 thousand.
Also in 7 months, visitors to Vietnam from Asia reached 3.97 million, of which visitors from China were 1.5 million, up 54.5%; South Korea was 858 thousand, up 37%; Japan was 413,3 thousand, up 12.6%; Thailand was 153,6 thousand - up 37.2%;…
Visitors from Europe are estimated at 900,600 arrivals, up 14.1% over the same period last year.
Visitors from the Americas were 450,800, up 12.5% over the same period last year. Of which, visitors from the US were 344,500, up 14.4%.
Chinese tourists are considered the biggest spenders when it comes to travel. In 2015, Chinese tourists spent $215 billion on overseas holidays, despite the country's struggling economy and falling stock market.
Speaking to the press, General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Van Tuan said that recently there has been a lot of information about some Chinese tourist groups canceling tours and stopping coming to Vietnam due to discrimination from some localities and domestic businesses.
“All international tourists are always welcome in Vietnam, of which Chinese-speaking tourists are an important market and we should not discriminate,” he said.
According to the leader of the General Department of Tourism, the immediate thing to do is to improve the capacity of Vietnamese tourism companies, especially the team of tour guides for foreign tourists, including the Chinese tourist market, to meet the demand in terms of quantity and quality.
