(Baonghean.vn) - On the last day of the holiday, tourists in the coastal city of Cua Lo crowdedly rented electric cars to go shopping for seafood as gifts for their relatives. Although seafood consumption was high, prices remained stable.

On the last day of the holiday, although it was raining, from early morning, many tourists staying at Cua Lo beach town rented electric cars to Nghi Thuy fishing port, Hom market to buy seafood as gifts. From 6am, the fishing port was crowded with tourists, the amount of seafood sold increased dramatically compared to normal days. Many traders mobilized all their manpower to the fishing port to sell, grill fish and package them to serve tourists.

Ms. Hoang Bien Thuy, a tourist from Hanoi, said: "Today is our last day in Cua Lo, so we woke up early, rented an electric car to the fishing wharf to choose fresh fish and squid as gifts for relatives. We bought whole mackerel, grilled, packaged, and vacuum-sealed so it can be preserved for a long time. In general, the prices of seafood have increased slightly, but with fresh seafood like this, a slight increase is acceptable."

According to a survey, during the holidays, although there are many tourists and a large amount of seafood consumption, the prices of seafood at fishing ports and markets remain stable, with only a few types increasing slightly.

Specifically: Cage fish fluctuates from 130-150,000 VND/kg; mackerel 230-250,000 VND/kg; farmed shrimp 200,000 VND/kg (up 30,000 VND/kg); squid 230-250,000 VND/kg (up 20-30,000 VND/kg); clams, snails, and mussels of all kinds increase from 30,000 VND - 50,000 VND/kg. In particular, crab prices have increased sharply, usually priced from 200,000-500,000 VND/kg, now doubled, and grade 1 crabs are priced at 1,000,000 VND/kg.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, a seafood trader at Nghi Thuy fishing port, said: “The number of customers these days is quite large, the amount of goods sold is many times higher than usual. Thanks to the abundant exploitation, seafood is not scarce, and prices are also stable. Only crabs and mackerel have increased in price compared to usual days, of which mackerel is the best-selling item, selling out very early.”

As for seafood at Hom market (Cua Lo town), the number of customers coming to buy is quite large. In particular, dried seafood such as: various types of dried fish, dried shrimp, shrimp, dried squid, fish sauce, etc. are also very "hot" in sales.

Mr. Hoang Van Yen, a dried fish kiosk owner in Nghi Thuy ward, said: “To welcome the 2019 tourist season, my family has stocked up on dozens of tons of various types of dried seafood. Because we have proactively sourced goods, even though there are quite a lot of customers, the prices are still the same as usual.”

To create a good impression for tourists when coming to Cua Lo, before the tourist season, we held a meeting to thoroughly understand the spirit of not raising or forcing prices, not soliciting customers to businesses and traders in the ward.

In particular, to ensure correct and sufficient weighing for customers, at Nghi Thuy fish wharf market and Hom market, the ward has set up control weighing stations; the ward government coordinates with the market management board to remind traders to comply with regulations on prices, price posting, goods ensuring food hygiene and safety, with clear origin...
