Vietnam Railways announces train schedule for Dinh Dau Tet 2017

To best serve people's travel needs and organize passenger transportation, Vietnam Railways Corporation said that the train schedule for the 2017 Lunar New Year will be divided into 3 phases.

Specifically, Phase 1: before Tet from January 15, 2017 to January 27, 2017;

Phase 2: Tet holiday from January 28, 2017 to February 5, 2017;

Post-Tet period: from February 6, 2017 to February 18, 2017.

Accordingly, during the above period, to best serve the travel needs of the people, Vietnam Railways Corporation will operate 15 pairs of passenger trains to serve Tet. Specifically: 11 pairs of trains will run continuously between Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa. In addition to the 5 main train pairs SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8, TN1/TN2, Vietnam Railways will operate additional trains: TN3/TN4, TN5/TN6, TN7/TN8, SE11/SE12, SE13/SE14, SE29/SE30, SE17/SE18 running daily between Hanoi - Saigon and vice versa before and after Tet).

The Railway Industry plans to run 15 pairs of trains during the 2017 Lunar New Year.

In particular, during the Tet holiday from January 28, 2017 to February 5, 2017, Vietnam Railways Corporation will still regularly operate 6 pairs of trains SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8, SE13/SE14, TN1/TN2 between Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City and 1 pair of trains SE21/SE22 between Saigon - Vinh and vice versa to serve the travel needs of passengers.

Along with that, the organization will run an additional pair of trains SE9/SE10: Before Tet, train SE9/SE10 runs between Hanoi - Nha Trang and vice versa. After Tet, train SE9/SE10 runs between Saigon - Dong Hoi and vice versa.

In addition, there will be an additional pair of SE23/SE24 trains running daily between Thanh Hoa-Saigon and vice versa.

For freight trains, from January 15, 2017 to February 18, 2017, 3 pairs of freight trains on routes SY1/SY2, SBN1/SBN2, H3/H4 will run daily between Yen Vien, Giap Bat - Song Than and vice versa. Based on actual demand, Vietnam Railways Corporation will organize additional freight trains on the North - South railway route.

Regarding the ticket sales plan, Vietnam Railways Corporation said that it will reserve about 20% of the total ticket sales plans for Thong Nhat passenger trains to handle for groups from September 25, 2016 to September 30, 2016.

From October 1, 2016: Transport companies organize ticket sales for individual passengers on the Web and at ticket sales points. Each customer can book on the website at a time no more than 4 tickets for one way.

During peak days, to increase transport capacity and based on actual needs, Vietnam Railways Corporation organizes ticket sales to convert the first floor sleeper seats into 3 soft seats (applicable to soft sleeper cars with 4 beds).
