(Baonghean.vn) - In early December, SLNA Club will welcome the first foreign players for trial. That is also the time when the Nghe An team will be in Thanh Hoa to participate in the FLC Cup friendly football tournament before the new 2017 season.

After an unsuccessful season when both domestic and foreign players failed to meet fans' expectations, before the new season, SLNA is determined to select 2 foreign players with better quality to help the team improve its performance as well as its ineffective playing style.

The Nghe An team’s foreign player selection plan this year has also received encouragement from the sponsor, Bac A Bank. Therefore, in the recent past, many strikers have been contacted by the SLNA scouting team for trials. Among them, there are strikers who have left their mark in V.League 2016 in the colors of other clubs.

Domestic strikers who have not yet fully demonstrated their abilities in the last season, such as Nguyen Viet Nguyen... will have to make more efforts to gain a foothold in V.League 2017.

New head coach Nguyen Duc Thang said that in the 2016 season, the two foreign players Odah and Salia showed a disadvantage in terms of physique and physical strength. Therefore, the criteria set for the foreign players on trial at SLNA in the future, besides the ability to attack effectively, must also shoulder the task of supporting the domestic players in defense.

Currently, SLNA is actively preparing for the new season. In addition to calling up players who were loaned out last season, such as: Ho Phuc Tinh, Nguyen Sy Nam, Ngo Xuan Toan, Nguyen Van Manh, Nguyen Van Duc,... SLNA has almost not welcomed any domestic players to create conditions for young talents.

After nearly 1 month of regrouping, at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow (November 26), SLNA will have a friendly match against Hai Phong at Vinh Stadium. A few days later, coach Nguyen Duc Thang and his team will go to Thanh Hoa to participate in the FLC Cup 2017. In this tournament, SLNA will give foreign players a chance to prove themselves before deciding to sign a contract. At the same time, it will create opportunities for competition and purification to select the best factors.

The FLC Cup friendly tournament will take place from December 5 to December 15, 2016 at Thanh Hoa Province Stadium with the participation of 4 teams: Song Lam Nghe An, Hanoi T&T, XSKT Can Tho and host FLC Thanh Hoa. Competing in a round-robin format over 3 rounds, the 2 clubs with the highest scores will compete for the championship.
