Nearly 1,300 applications to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted

(Baonghean.vn)- In the 2017-2018 school year entrance exam, Phan School had nearly 1,300 applications. Notably, starting this year, the school opened two new specialized classes in the fields of Natural Sciences and Foreign Languages.

Up to this point, according to the synthesis of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, there have been nearly 1,300 applications for admission to 11 specialized classes, of which 714 applications are for the second choice to enter specialized classes in the fields of Natural Sciences (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Foreign Languages ​​(English, Japanese). It can be seen that the two new specialized classes in the fields of Natural Sciences and Foreign Languages ​​opened starting this year are really attractive to students.

Among the specialized classes, the class with the largest number of applications is English with 248 applications. Following English is Math with 188 applications, Literature with 187 applications, Chemistry with 183 applications, Physics with 129 applications, Biology with 126 applications.

The History, Geography, French, Russian, and Computer Science classes each have from 33 to 70 applications. Regarding specialized classes by field, the Natural Sciences field alone has 515 applications.

Besides the first choice registration, there are 241 second choice registration applications for specialized classes in Information Technology, Biology, History, Geography and Russian.

The entrance exam for grade 10 at Phan Boi Chau High School for the 2017-2018 school year will be held on June 9, 2017. The result of the admission to the specialized class is the total score of the non-specialized exams (taken from the results of the entrance exam for grade 10 organized by the Department of Education and Training - coefficient 1) plus the score of the specialized subject exam corresponding to the specialized class (coefficient 3).

This year, according to the plan, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted will enroll 385 students for 11 specialized classes, with an average of 35 students per class. In addition, for the first time, the school will enroll 70 students for 2 specialized classes in the fields of Natural Sciences and Foreign Languages. According to the plan, there will be 57 examination rooms and candidates will take the exam at 2 locations: Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and Le Viet Thuat High School.
