Nearly 100 athletes compete in the National Beach Sepak Takraw Championship hosted by Nghe An

On the evening of June 10, in Cua Lo town, the Vietnam Sepak Takraw Federation coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An to organize the opening ceremony of the 2019 National Beach Sepak Takraw Championship.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vu Thai Hong - Deputy Director of High Performance Sports Department - General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Mr. Nguyen Duy Luong - Chairman of Vietnam Sepak Takraw Federation; representatives of Nghe An Department of Culture - Sports, People's Committee of Cua Lo town.

The organizing committee presented flowers and flags to the participating teams.

The National Beach Sepak Takraw Championship is a competition within the national competition system, held annually, to help athletes increase their competition and accumulate experience, and at the same time is an opportunity to evaluate Sepak Takraw training and coaching, encourage localities and sectors to invest in developing the movement and building Sepak Takraw forces nationwide.

This year, Nghe An province hosted the tournament, this is a very important sporting activity in contributing to enriching Cua Lo beach tourism activities. At the same time, it is also an opportunity to promote and introduce the image of Cua Lo - Nghe An to friends across the country.

The first matches took place on the opening day.

The tournament has nearly 100 athletes from 9 provinces and cities, including: Hanoi, Soc Trang, Thanh Hoa, Bac Giang, Ho Chi Minh City, Yen Bai, Nghe An, Dong Nai, Quang Ninh, competing in the following categories: 3-men's team, 4-men's team, 3-women's team, 4-women team, men's team, women's team...

The tournament takes place from June 10 to 15 with 38 matches.
