Vovinam is an abbreviation of the phrase “Vietnamese Martial Arts”, formed and developed since the early years of the 20th century. This martial art is a skillful combination of traditional Vietnamese wrestling and martial arts from China, Korea, and Japan. Built on the principle of “soft and hard combined”, Vovinam focuses on techniques using bare hands, elbows, legs, knees, and also the use of weapons such as swords, sabers, machetes, knives, clubs, fans, etc.
Today, this martial art has been widely developed all over the world. Martial artists of this school not only focus on techniques and weapons, but also practice qigong, and develop the good nature in each individual.
