Nearly 500 schools in Nghe An are being used as quarantine areas.
(Baonghean.vn) - This is a solution being implemented by localities in the context of an increasing number of people returning from areas under lockdown or experiencing the Covid-19 epidemic.

One of the localities with the largest number of requisitioned schools is Quynh Luu district. According to statistics, the whole district has 59 requisitioned schools and school sites. Of these, 38 are preschools, and 11 are primary and secondary schools.
Setting up centralized quarantine areas in schools is a convenient solution for localities, because there are not only many rooms for quarantined subjects, but also other supporting conditions such as places to eat, sleep, organize cooking and hygiene. To serve the quarantine work, in addition to creating favorable conditions in terms of facilities, the Education sector also directs schools to support human resources to strengthen the quarantine areas, especially logistics.
According to the Nghe An Education Trade Union, the entire education sector has mobilized nearly 500 million VND including money and goods, mainly food and provisions to support concentrated quarantine areas in localities.
In the current context, the requisition of quarantine areas in schools is suitable for the actual conditions in localities, because the province currently has more than 9,000 cases that must be quarantined due to returning from epidemic areas.
However, this also leads to some difficulties for schools, especially at a time when there is only about 1 month left until students return to school and prepare to enter the new school year.new school year.

Currently, the Department of Education is continuing to direct units to properly carry out the tasks that the locality has deployed to do a good job of quarantining and welcoming Nghe An workers back. In addition, for schools that have not yet built centralized areas, the Department requires the Department of Education and Training to direct schools to take advantage of the time to renovate and repair school facilities and equipment. If the centralized quarantine is prolonged, the Department also plans to develop backup plans so as not to affect students' return to school.
On the local side, in addition to quarantining at schools, to prepare for the new school year, districts also develop other plans such as quarantining at headquarters and old schools after the merger, quarantining at cultural houses of villages and hamlets, or aiming to quarantine at families under safe conditions.
