Nearly 830 thousand people participate in the online contest 'Learn about the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard'
(Baonghean.vn) - After one month of organization, the National Online Contest "Learning about the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard" chaired by the Ministry of National Defense, the Coast Guard Command as the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee, and the Organizing Committee has ended with good results.

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, although taking place in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the National Online Contest "Learn about Vietnam Coast Guard Law" has received proactive, positive and enthusiastic response from a large number of cadres, soldiers and people of all walks of life.
For the Weekly Contest, the number of contestants increased sharply each week; specifically: Week 1, the number of contestants was 99,460; Week 2 was 159,422 (an increase of more than 60% compared to week 1), Week 3 was 220,282 (an increase of more than 40% compared to week 2).
In particular, for the Monthly Contest, the number of contestants increased steadily day by day. At the end of the Contest, the Organizing Committee recorded a total of 350,205 participants. Thus, in total, all 3 rounds of Weekly and Monthly Contests had 829,369 participants, completing 2,073,430 entries. Of which, there were 131,063 officers and soldiers in the Army and 698,306 civilian contestants (including 4,349 contestants who were Vietnamese citizens abroad).

The Organizing Committee also acknowledged the close, enthusiastic and responsible coordination in organizing the Contest of departments, ministries, branches, local authorities; Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense, Coast Guard, training institutions nationwide; Central and local news agencies and newspapers that participated in communicating and promoting the Contest. It can be affirmed that this is the combined strength that created the success of this Contest.
According to Major General Bui Quoc Oai, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, it can be affirmed that the successful organization of the Contest by the Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam Coast Guard High Command has contributed to the effective implementation of Decision No. 1059/QD-TTg dated August 22, 2019 of the Prime Minister; has linked the responsibility of performing tasks and powers of agencies, organizations, units, and local authorities with the task of propagating and disseminating the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard in particular, and the cause of managing and protecting the sea and islands of the Fatherland in the current period in general.

“Through the Contest, we clearly feel the deep concern, as well as the awareness and sense of responsibility of the people for the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, which will be the factor creating a comprehensive strength and a solid people's position at sea; contributing to motivating and encouraging Vietnamese agencies, organizations and citizens at home and abroad to respond, participate in building, coordinating, collaborating, supporting and helping the Vietnam Coast Guard to perform the functions, tasks and powers assigned by the Party, State and people”, Major General Bui Quoc Oai emphasized.
Currently, the Organizing Committee has announced the results of the Competition on the mass media. The Organizing Committee will send the results of the Competition to the collectives that won the monthly prizes of the Competition; send cash prizes, Certificates of Merit, and Medals of the Ministry of National Defense Steering Committee in appropriate forms to the collectives and individuals that won the Second, Third, and Encouragement prizes of the Competition.
The Organizing Committee will invite the collectives and individuals who won the special prize and the First prize of the Competition to attend the Award Ceremony, which will be held in conjunction with the 3-year summary ceremony of the implementation of the Project on Propagating and Disseminating the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard for the period 2019 - 2023 (expected to be held in January 2022 at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense).
