Near Tet, many people visit the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap

On the days before Tet, many people from everywhere come to Vung Chua - Yen Island to burn incense and offer it to General Vo Nguyen Giap.

At the end of the year, the flow of people to Vung Chua – Yen Island, Quang Binh province is increasing. They come to offer flowers and incense at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, a resident of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, said that the General is someone who the country and people will always remember and be grateful to, so during Tet, his family often goes to Quang Binh to burn incense and commemorate the General.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dat, a tourist from Hanoi, said that on the way to Da Nang, he took his wife and children to Vung Chua. The peaceful natural scenery makes everyone's soul calm. Mr. Dat hopes that future generations will always remember the contributions and sacrifices of their ancestors to build the country.

Two peach trees are in full bloom near the bell tower of the General's tomb.

Captain Dong Thanh Hai, Captain of the General's Tomb Protection Team, Roon Border Guard Station, said that although the northeast monsoon is blowing very strongly, every day there are still more than 1,000 visitors coming to register to visit the General's tomb.

Peaceful Yen Island looms behind the misty fog.

“During the traditional Tet holiday, the General’s family organized the wrapping of banh chung and, together with the soldiers, offered incense to the General. The plan to protect the General’s tomb takes place regularly, and we are always ready to guide people to offer incense to the General’s tomb,” said Captain Dong Thanh Hai.
