Gangwon FC checks Xuan Truong's health

The Korean football team eagerly held a ceremony to introduce new player Luong Xuan Truong yesterday (January 9), even though the Vietnamese midfielder had not yet passed the required medical examination.

According to procedure, players who come to play in Korea must undergo a thorough health check before officially signing a contract and appearing at the new club's launch ceremony.

However, eager to introduce Xuan Truong, Gangwon FC held a launch event for the Vietnamese midfielder yesterday (January 9), before conducting a health check.

Medical examinations for players must be more rigorous than usual, because they always exercise beyond their limits, potentially causing risks of cardiovascular disease and injury.

Head of the HAGL football team, Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh shared: "This morning (January 10), doctors conducted a medical examination with Xuan Truong. After that, Truong visited the youth training center of coach Kim Hee Tae, took pictures with the U18 KHT team and coach Kim Tae Min. This is also the place where the U17 HAGL Arsenal-JMG Academy went to train after the Lunar New Year."

Before joining Gangwon FC, Xuan Truong spent a year playing for Incheon United on loan. Although he only played 4 matches in the K.League Classic and some matches in the reserve tournament, the player born in 1995 said that it was a valuable time that helped him improve his skills to contribute more to the Vietnam national team.

At Gangwon FC, Xuan Truong will work under former HAGL coach Choi Yun-kyum. While in Gia Lai, Mr. Choi had many times let the first team compete with the first class of the HAGL-Arsenal JMG academy. At that time, he knew about Xuan Truong's ability but could not have imagined that one day both of them would work together in the land of kimchi.

After the press conference, the 2016 Vietnam Silver Ball (QBB) will join Gangwon FC for a training session in Ulsan. He will have plenty of time to get acquainted with the new team and adapt to Coach Choi's playing style. At the end of January, the team will go to Miyazaki (Japan) to begin the next training cycle.
