Meet the female student who gave flowers to welcome President Obama to Vietnam
Tran My Linh was honored to be the representative of Vietnamese youth to welcome and present flowers to the US President as soon as he landed at Noi Bai airport on the evening of May 22.
Among the first images of President Obama arriving in Vietnam, flooding the media, the image of a young girl wearing a yellow ao dai, smiling brightly, presenting flowers to the US President is attracting attention. The identity of the young girl who was the first person to meet President Obama is being “hotly hunted” by netizens.

And not surprisingly, she is a beautiful, multi-talented Vietnamese girl of the 9X generation. Tran My Linh was born in 1995 in Hanoi, currently a student of the Faculty of Languages, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi). In the student community of Hanoi, My Linh is a prominent face because she is good at studying, beautiful, possesses many talents and is active in Union - Association activities.
In 2015, My Linh was honored as the Secretary of the Youth Union with many achievements in the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement. The charming and multi-talented 9X female student has a gift for singing, playing the instrument, and dancing. This girl with a lovely smile, outstanding academic achievements and activities was once in the Top 5 of the Miss VNU Elegant Female Student Contest and was awarded the "Talent Ambassador" award of this contest. She also won the Encouragement Prize in the Non-Professional English Olympic Contest.
As the Vietnamese girl who was given flowers to welcome President Obama at the airport, My Linh emotionally expressed: "I am extremely honored and proud to be the one to give flowers to welcome US President Barack Obama."
“When President Obama stepped off the plane, he smiled brightly and waved to everyone standing at the airport. When I gave him the flowers, the President asked my name and complimented me that the bouquet was very beautiful. It was a feeling I will never forget. It was an honor and pride to be present at this moment,” My Linh confided.

My Linh added that she had time to send greetings and thanks to President Obama for his visit to Vietnam and received a friendly greeting, a warm handshake, and a sincere smile from him.
On her personal page, My Linh could not hide her emotions when meeting the world's most powerful man for the first time. She wrote: "To tell the truth, Barack Obama's hands are very warm! Just hearing his name and thanking him was so sweet." The female student's status line quickly attracted the attention of the online community and made many people "jealous".
It is known that a few days ago, My Linh was also honored to represent young Vietnamese people in the delegation to see the Lao Prime Minister off to his country./.
