Mr. Do Ha Nam said that there is currently very little coffee on the London floor, but many financial investors are participating, pushing the price very high.

On the Brazilian side, transportation is difficult, exporters from this country deliver very late, so the world's coffee supply is dependent on Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Vietnam is entering a long Tet holiday, farmers are limiting sales, waiting until after Tet, causing a shortage of supply. However, coffee prices are currently very high, so there are not many buyers, mainly only buying when needed, not buying to store.

Vietnamese export enterprises are also on Tet holiday, so the supply of coffee from Vietnam continues to be interrupted, causing prices to remain stable and tend to increase.

Coffee prices on the world market also fluctuate:

Robusta Coffee (London):

March 2025 delivery: Up 15 USD/ton, to 5,497 USD/ton.

Delivery in May 2025: Up 26 USD/ton, to 5,449 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

March 2025 delivery: Up 1.2 cents/lb, to 345.15 cents/lb.

May 2025 delivery: Up 1.2 cents/lb, to 341.3 cents/lb.

Arabica coffee prices hit a new record high for the near-term futures contract and robusta continued to rise to a six-week high.

Prospects of a smaller coffee crop in Brazil leading to tight supplies have fueled buying from investment funds.

A stronger Brazilian real also supported coffee prices, with the real rising to a six-week high against the dollar on January 23. A stronger real reduces the incentive for Brazilian coffee producers to sell.

Supply concerns from top producer Brazil are supporting prices, while ICE certified arabica inventories are adding pressure, Reuters reported.

“Long term, there are a lot of concerns about the next crop,” said Tomas Araujo, a broker at StoneX.

He added that the market will be watching for updates on crop estimates expected in the next 30 days.
