Domestic coffee prices have seen a sharp decline. Demand has weakened as businesses have completed short-term export orders. On the other hand, new crop supplies are still being brought to the market, preventing coffee prices from recovering.

Overall, the domestic coffee market is showing signs of slowing down after several weeks of strong growth. The main reason is that farmers expect higher prices and are not in a hurry to sell, while purchasing businesses are still monitoring international market developments.

Although the price of coffee has not yet reached a new record, the fact that it has remained at a high level shows the stability of the market. If the supply continues to be scarce and export demand increases, domestic coffee prices may soon return to an upward trend.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market also fluctuate:

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery in March 2025: Down 175 USD/ton, to 5,375 USD/ton.

Delivery in May 2025: Down 166 USD/ton, to 5,340 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

March 2025 delivery: Down 10.5 cents/lb, to 374.3 cents/lb.

May 2025 delivery: Down 9.1 cents/lb, to 365.8 cents/lb.

Coffee prices have fallen sharply due to pressure from many factors. In the world market, the sell-off continues as investors worry about recovering coffee inventories while consumption shows signs of slowing down.

Arabica coffee prices have been under pressure in recent sessions as ICE-monitored inventories rose to 792,695 bags on February 24, compared to a nine-month low of 758,514 bags on February 18.

Coffee prices are still high, 2-3 times higher than 2 years ago. This is good news for farmers but also brings many risks to the coffee production chain.

Roasters are struggling because raw material costs are rising but they cannot increase selling prices accordingly, causing profits to shrink.

On the contrary, the market has seen many establishments selling cheap coffee, using poor quality ingredients such as corn, soybeans or coffee waste, posing a risk to consumers' health. Recently, the authorities have dealt with a number of cases of fake coffee production.

Additionally, when coffee prices rise, consumers tend to cut back or switch to cheaper beverages, such as tea.
