Coffee price today January 31, 2025: Increased by more than 3,000 VND since the beginning of the new year

Today's domestic coffee price on January 31 is at 126,800 - 127,800 VND/kg, a sharp increase from 1,500 to 1,800 VND/kg. Vietnam's Robusta coffee beans have risen to become the most expensive in the world.

Domestic coffee prices today

Domestic coffee prices today in the Central Highlands region increased sharply from 1,500 to 1,800 VND/kg compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 126,800 - 127,800 VND/kg.

Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 127,800 VND/kg. A sharp increase of 1,800 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Coffee price in Dak Lak province is 127,600 VND/kg, a sharp increase of 1,800 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by VND1,700/kg and were traded at VND127,500/kg.

In Lam Dong province, coffee prices increased by VND1,500/kg to VND126,800/kg.

In the first days of 2025, the coffee capital of the Central Highlands is in the peak harvest season, with the price of green coffee beans hovering at a sky-high level of nearly VND130,000/kg. In just the first two days of the year, domestic coffee prices have increased by more than VND3,000/kg.

Looking back at 2024, the price of coffee in the domestic market has increased steadily, from 67,000-70,000 VND/kg to nearly double, from 121,000-123,000 VND/kg. At one point, this type of bean even jumped to 131,000 VND/kg, while fresh coffee increased to around 30,000 VND/kg - higher than the price of green coffee in 2020.

“International customers come to order a lot of products. There are months when we receive several groups a day, from Monday to Saturday,” said Mr. Phan Minh Thong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuc Sinh Group. Not only that, in the middle of last year, Son La specialty coffee was sold out when it was brought to Chicago (USA). Meanwhile, at the factory, 8,000 tons of coffee, equivalent to 400 containers of goods, did not have a single bean left.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market also fluctuate:

Robusta Coffee (London):

March 2025 delivery: Up 83 USD/ton, to 5,692 USD/ton.

Delivery in May 2025: Up 84 USD/ton, to 5,667 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

March 2025 delivery: Up 5.7 cents/lb, to 372.25 cents/lb.

May 2025 delivery: Up 5.55 cents/lb, to 366.9 cents/lb.

Robusta coffee (the type of coffee that accounts for 90% of the area in Vietnam) recorded a record high price of 5,533 USD/ton at the end of November 2024. Vietnam's average coffee export price in 2024 also increased sharply, from 3,054 USD/ton to 5,450 USD, peaking at 5,855 USD/ton.

In 2024, the export price of coffee will reach 4,158 USD/ton, an increase of 59.1% compared to 2023, and at the same time, a record high price for our country's coffee industry.

In response to these record numbers, Mr. Do Ha Nam, Vice President of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association, commented that 2024 is an extremely special year for the coffee industry. For the first time, Vietnamese coffee prices are the most expensive in the world.

While businesses and experts say this is a "miraculous year" for Vietnamese coffee. Prices have risen to levels that people "can't even dream of". Not only that, Vietnamese coffee is increasingly showing its important role in controlling supply - demand as well as prices in the world market.
