The fourth victim in the incident was 15-month-old Lo Dang Kh., the son of Lu Thi May. “The baby suffered a head injury. But because his father and grandmother had to go to Vinh City to take care of his mother, there was no one to take care of him at the medical center. Therefore, the doctor sent him home and sent him to his grandmother’s house. The doctors told him to take him to the hospital immediately if he had symptoms of headache, dizziness or vomiting,” said the victim’s family.
According to the reporter's investigation, the victims' families are all in difficult circumstances. Recently, Lo Thi Ngoc and her husband built their own house, so they hired them to help. "That day, I heard my son say that he was going to work for his aunt Ngoc's family to earn some money to buy milk for his son. I was sick and had a headache for several days and couldn't go anywhere. My son-in-law was working in the border commune of Na Ngoi. It wasn't until late afternoon when we heard the news that we rushed back," said Lo Thi Phan, mother of victim Lu Thi May.

Khe Nan villagers are still shocked by the incident. |
Mrs. Phan said that to have money to take Ms. May to the provincial hospital for emergency treatment, she had to borrow from relatives in the village, each family contributed 1 to 2 million, and gave it to her son-in-law.
According to Mr. La Duc Thoai - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieu Luu commune, on April 3, Ms. Lo Thi Ngoc's family hired some neighbors and relatives to build a fence separating the house from the village's concrete road. Because the house's garden is several meters lower than the road, this fence also has the same function as an embankment to prevent landslides. The fence is built of taplo bricks, about 9 meters long and nearly 2 meters high.
“At that time, three women were digging under the foundation, and a little boy was playing next to them. The people standing above carelessly poured soil down, causing the newly built fence to be unable to withstand the pressure, leading to a landslide,” said Mr. Thoai.
