Impersonating a Ministry of Defense officer to defraud professional military personnel
Pretending to be an officer of General Department II, Ministry of National Defense, who was able to "run" for conscripts to transfer to professional soldiers for 400 million VND, Hieu was caught red-handed by the police while receiving money from a victim.
The Investigation Police Agency of Lang Son City Police said that it has decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and issue a detention order for Tran Van Hieu (born in 1989), residing in Nghia An village, Nghia Phuong commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province for the act offraud and appropriation of property.

Previously, through the work of grasping the local situation, Lang Son City Police discovered that Tran Van Hieu claimed to be an officer of the General Department II, Ministry of National Defense, who was able to "run" for soldiers performing military service to transfer to professional soldiers for 400 million VND. Believing Hieu's "bullshit", Ms. VTN, residing in Chi Lang Ward, Lang Son City, gave Hieu money to ask for help "running" for professional military status for her relatives.
At around 5:15 p.m. on September 5, when Hieu was receiving 15 million VND from Ms. VTN on Le Loi Street, Vinh Trai Ward, Lang Son City, he was discovered and caught red-handed by the Lang Son City Police Working Group. Through the investigation, Tran Van Hieu admitted that he was not a soldier but pretended to be an officer of the General Department II, Ministry of National Defense to create prestige in order to defraud and appropriate property. Through the investigation, Tran Van Hieu also confessed that in 2021, Hieu was discovered and handled by a military unit for impersonating a military officer to deceive the feelings of many women.
