After being introduced to a hotel in An Hai Bac ward, An continued to impersonate himself as a National Assembly delegate, and fabricated many stories to make the hotel owner believe that An could buy a plane ticket to leave Da Nang, so he sent 6 million VND to buy the ticket.
Then, An promised to help with some work when he returned to Hanoi, so the hotel owner gave him another 10 million VND.
After defrauding and appropriating the above amount of money, An left the hotel.
Upon receiving a report from the hotel owner, An Hai Bac Ward Police (Son Tra District) investigated and discovered that An was staying at another hotel on Ho Xuan Huong Street, so they invited him to An Hai Bac Ward Police Station for questioning.
At the police station, Tran Phuoc An admitted that because he had no money to spend, he had the idea of appropriating the hotel owners' property.
The case is currently being investigated by Son Tra District Police.
