Pig price today October 25, 2024: A locality in the Central region has continued to adjust down to 58,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the country.
Pig price in the North
In the North, the price of live pigs has decreased in some localities. Specifically, in Hanoi and provinces such as Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, the price of pigs is at 63,000 VND/kg.
In Yen Bai and Lao Cai, the price is 62,000 VND/kg, while in Vinh Phuc and some other provinces it fluctuates around 61,000 VND/kg.
Current prices in the North are still quite high compared to other regions, ranging from 61,000 to 63,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in Central Highlands region
In the Central and Central Highlands regions, pig prices are falling sharply.
Specifically, in Dak Lak, the price has dropped to 58,000 VND/kg, the lowest level in the region.
In Binh Dinh and Quang Ngai, the price of pork is 59,000 VND/kg.
In provinces such as Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, and Quang Tri, prices range from 60,000 to 61,000 VND/kg.
Compared to the North, prices in the Central Highlands are currently much lower, with many localities recording significant decreases.
Pig price in the Southern region
In the South, pork prices decreased slightly in some localities. Specifically, prices in Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau ranged from 61,000 to 62,000 VND/kg.
In the Southwest region, provinces such as Vinh Long, An Giang, and Dong Thap also have similar prices. Tien Giang recorded a slight decrease in price to 61,000 VND/kg.
Overall, the price of live pigs in the South remains stable at around 61,000 to 62,000 VND/kg, but tends to decrease slightly in some areas.
Today's live hog market shows a decrease in price in all three regions, with the Central Highlands having the lowest price of 58,000 VND/kg in Dak Lak. Meanwhile, the North still maintains a relatively high price. It is forecasted that the live hog price may continue to decrease slightly in some localities in the coming time.
The pig farming industry in Dak Nong has developed rapidly in recent years, with the formation of three livestock farming chains, bringing economic benefits to farmers.
The largest chain belongs to CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, including 58 farming households and a total of 94,400 pigs.
As of June 2024, Dak Nong province had a total of 480,000 pigs, an increase of 50,000 pigs compared to the previous year and reaching 88% of the annual plan. There are 298 pig farms in the province, with the number of pigs accounting for 75% of the province's total pig herd.
The province's policy is to develop sustainable, large-scale pig farming, control diseases and protect the environment.
Dak Nong strengthens quality control measures from breeding stock to pork products, to minimize the risk of disease.
Specialized agencies are tasked with preparing plans to quickly detect and handle pathogens in pig herds.
The province also focuses on environmental protection in livestock farming and calls for investment in projects related to this industry.
Dak Nong expects to develop large livestock farming areas, especially concentrated pig farming in three northern districts: Cu Jut, Krong No and Dak Mil.
