According to a report from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Vietnam's pork output in 2024 is forecast to increase by 3% to about 3.8 million tons. The main reason is thanks to effective control of African swine fever and policies supporting the expansion of the pig herd.
Domestic pork prices are expected to increase in the coming weeks, especially as demand increases during the Lunar New Year. However, the impact of storm No. 3 could disrupt supply in some areas.
Experts recommend that farmers closely monitor market developments, stabilize pig herds and maintain reasonable costs to optimize profits in a context where prices may continue to fluctuate.
