Pig price today September 5, 2024: Recorded scattered increases of 1,000 VND/kg, fluctuating between 62,000 - 67,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the North

Pig prices in the northern provinces increased slightly today, ranging from 64,000 to 67,000 VND/kg.

In Vinh Phuc, the price increased by 1,000 VND, to 66,000 VND/kg.

Lao Cai and Ninh Binh have the lowest prices, stable at 64,000 VND/kg.

Hanoi has the highest price of live pigs, at 67,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in Central Highlands region

In the Central and Central Highlands regions, the current purchase price of live pigs is stable, with no change, ranging from 62,000 to 65,000 VND/kg.

In provinces such as Quang Tri, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak and Ninh Thuan, the purchase price of live pigs is the lowest, fixed at 62,000 VND/kg.

Traders elsewhere continued to buy live pigs at prices unchanged from before.

Pig price in the Southern region

The price of live pigs in the South has now increased by 1,000 VND/kg.

The new recorded price ranges from 62,000 to 64,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, in Ben Tre, the price of live pigs after the increase is 62,000 VND/kg.

This price is also reflected in Binh Phuoc, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh and Ho Chi Minh City.

In Bac Lieu, the price of live pigs has been adjusted to 63,000 VND/kg after increasing.

In the second quarter of 2024, the price of live pigs increased sharply, reaching 65,000 VND/kg, an increase of 18% compared to the previous year. The decrease in animal feed prices has helped livestock enterprises record positive business results.

Mr. Duc's HAG Company leads in profits in the pig farming industry, with a net profit of VND270 billion in the second quarter, 2.4 times higher than the same period last year.

HAG's banana export segment contributed greatly to revenue, with more than VND1,100 billion, double the same period.

HAG's livestock revenue in the second quarter reached VND320 billion, down 28% year-on-year, but gross profit increased by 68% to VND86 billion thanks to lower animal feed prices. HAGL recorded a net profit of VND485 billion in the first half of 2024, up 27% year-on-year.

Chairman Truong Sy Ba's BAF Agriculture saw a 25% decrease in revenue in the second quarter of 2024 due to a reduction in the scale of agricultural product sales. BAF's pig farming segment grew strongly, with revenue increasing 4.7 times, reaching VND1,331 billion.

BAF has reduced its cost of goods sold and improved its gross profit margin from 5.8% to 14.2% thanks to proactive feed sources and lower raw material prices. BAF's after-tax profit in the first two quarters of 2024 reached VND154 billion, up 13 times over the same period.
