Pig price on December 31, 2024: Increasing trend again nationwide
On the last day of 2024, the price of live pigs across the country recorded a significant increase, reaching a peak of 69,000 VND/kg. This fluctuation was evident in all three regions of the North, Central Highlands and the South, bringing a positive signal to the livestock market.
Northern region: Pig prices increase sharply
In the North, pork prices returned to an upward trend on the morning of December 31. Specifically, Bac Giang recorded the highest price of 69,000 VND/kg, while Tuyen Quang and Vinh Phuc reached 68,000 VND/kg.
Traders in the region are currently purchasing live pigs at prices ranging from VND67,000 to VND69,000 per kilogram, reflecting the stability and growth of the market.
Central Highlands: Slight but significant increase
The Central Highlands region also recorded a slight increase on the last day of the year. Lam Dong led with a price of 69,000 VND/kg, followed by Binh Thuan and Dak Lak both reaching 68,000 VND/kg.
Quang Nam recorded a price of 66,000 VND/kg, while the remaining provinces fluctuated from 65,000 to 67,000 VND/kg.
South: Positive price fluctuations
In the South, the price of live pigs also fluctuated positively. Provinces such as Dong Nai and Tay Ninh reached the highest price of 69,000 VND/kg, while Ho Chi Minh City recorded 68,000 VND/kg.
Dong Thap and Binh Phuoc reached 67,000 VND/kg.
Pig prices in the region are currently fluctuating between VND64,000 and VND69,000 per kilogram, reflecting the market's recovery.
Livestock and agricultural development in Bac Ninh
According to a report from the Bac Ninh Provincial Portal, the livestock industry in Tien Du district is developing steadily. The total output of fresh meat is estimated at more than 23,700 tons, up 10.2% over the same period last year. In addition, Tien Du district continues to promote the OCOP program with 12 products proposed for recognition.
In the coming time, Tien Du district will focus on land accumulation, developing production according to value chains, and applying biotechnology. The goal is to promote clean and organic agriculture, contributing to increasing production value and ensuring sustainable development.
