Pepper price today 9/1/2025: Strong increase last week
Pepper price today, September 1, is at 151,000 - 152,000 VND/kg, a sharp increase over the past week. Vietnam's pepper industry has a double advantage when pepper price increases and exports are stable.
Domestic pepper price
Pepper prices today in key growing areas increased sharply last week from 6,000 to 7,500 VND/kg. Thereby, the domestic pepper price level is from 151,000 VND/kg to 152,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak remained unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 152,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price today in Gia Lai is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 151,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price today in Lam Dong (former Dak Nong) is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 152,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper price today in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is currently at 151,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. Dong Nai is unchanged from yesterday at 151,000 VND/kg.
In addition, today's pepper price in Dong Nai (formerly Binh Phuoc) remained unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 151,000 VND/kg.

Domestic pepper prices today fluctuated between 151,000 - 152,000 VND/kg, a sharp increase of 6,000 - 7,500 VND/kg over the past week, and reached the highest level in the past three months. Specifically, pepper prices in Dak Nong and Dak Lak are being purchased at the highest level of 152,000 VND/kg, an increase of 6,000 VND/kg over the previous week.
In particular, pepper prices in Gia Lai recorded the strongest increase last week, increasing by VND7,500/kg. In the Southeast region including Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc, prices increased by VND7,000/kg.
According to the Import-Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the increase in domestic pepper prices shows that demand from export enterprises and the domestic market is stable. This increase also reflects a short-term supply shortage, especially when a part of the output has been contracted since the beginning of the year.
Domestic pepper prices are expected to remain high if supply remains limited, supported by increased imports to meet demand during the year-end holiday season. To maintain export growth, businesses need to focus on improving product quality and meeting increasingly stringent quarantine and traceability requirements from high-end markets.
Vietnam’s pepper industry is currently enjoying a double advantage as domestic pepper prices are rising, exports are stable and international demand remains strong. This is a positive sign after many years of strong market fluctuations.
However, to maintain its long-term position, the industry needs to build a sustainable development strategy focusing on deep processing, brand building and market diversification, instead of relying solely on exporting raw products.
In the short term, the upward trend in pepper prices is expected to continue to support pepper growers and create more momentum for Vietnam's agricultural exports in the last months of 2025.
