Today's domestic pepper price, February 13, is at 161,000 - 162,000 VND/kg. A sharp decrease of 500 - 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Pepper prices are being greatly affected by reduced supply.

Domestic pepper prices today

The highest pepper purchase price in key pepper growing regions (Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc) was recorded at 162,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, in Dak Nong province, pepper price is at 162,000 VND/kg. A sharp decrease of 1,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday.

In Gia Lai, pepper price is 161,500 VND/kg. Decreased 500 VND/tael compared to yesterday.

In Dak Lak, pepper price is 162,000 VND/kg. A sharp decrease of 2,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday.

In Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai, pepper price today is at 161,000 VND/kg. Down 1,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday.

In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, pepper price today is at 161,000 VND/kg. No change compared to yesterday.

Thus, today's pepper price in the domestic market is currently at its lowest price of 161,000 VND/kg.

In a recent report by Ptexim, pepper prices in the domestic market in Vietnam increased by 7.14% in the first week of February.

The demand from the Chinese market for white pepper and black pepper for extraction from the Indian market is quite good. Other markets like the US and EU are also buying black pepper in both long term and spot orders.

Harvest season is slow due to labor shortages and the effects of climate change.

Many farmers and traders expect pepper prices to continue their upward trend. Many households, after selling coffee and durian, are continuing to buy pepper to stockpile, anticipating the price increase in 2025.

World pepper prices today

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on February 13 (local time) as follows:

The price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper increased slightly compared to yesterday to reach 7,251 USD/ton (down 0.19%). In addition, the price of Muntok white pepper also increased slightly compared to yesterday to reach 10,010 USD/ton (down 0.18%).

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 6,700/mt.

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price is stable compared to yesterday at USD 9,000/ton. In addition, the country’s ASTA white pepper price is also stable compared to yesterday at USD 11,600/ton.

Prices of all types of Vietnamese pepper remained stable compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,500 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,650 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at 9,550 USD/ton.

In the international market, pepper prices are being greatly affected by reduced supply in major producing countries such as Vietnam, Brazil and Indonesia.

However, global consumption demand remains stable, especially in major markets such as the US and EU. This will continue to support pepper prices to remain high in the coming time.
