Pepper price today June 2 in the world market
In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on June 1 (local time) as follows:
Indonesia’s Lampung black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,427 per tonne. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper price also remained unchanged from yesterday at $10,125 per tonne.
Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 6,650/mt.
Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,150 per tonne. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $11,850 per tonne.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 9,500/ton.
Last week, Vietnam and Indonesia's pepper export prices decreased compared to the previous week, while other countries remained stable. Data from the International Pepper Community (IPC) showed that Indonesia's black pepper export price last week decreased slightly by 5 USD/ton. In Vietnam, the export price of 500 g/l and 550 g/l black pepper both decreased by 200 USD/ton compared to the previous week.
At the same time, the price of Indonesian Muntok white pepper decreased by 9 USD/ton compared to last week. The export price of Vietnamese white pepper decreased by 200 USD/ton and is being quoted at 9,500 USD/ton.
In India, although pepper production is forecast to drop sharply to about 76,000 tons compared to 126,000 tons last year, pepper prices have not increased as usual due to the law of supply and demand. The reason is that domestic demand is only about 60,000 tons and inventory from last year is still about 50,000 tons, creating great pressure on the market.
In addition, cheap pepper imports from Vietnam and Sri Lanka continue to flood into India thanks to regional free trade agreements. In the first 11 months of the 2024–2025 financial year, India imported 24,000 tonnes of pepper from Sri Lanka, a sharp increase from the previous year. Imports from Vietnam also reached over 11,000 tonnes, despite being subject to a high duty of 51%. Total pepper imports into India in 2024 have reached 37,000 tonnes, up from 35,000 tonnes last year.
Currently, domestic pepper prices in India are hovering around Rs 700 per kg, which is Rs 25 lower than last month. Meanwhile, imported pepper prices are only around Rs 25 lower than last month, making it difficult for domestic pepper to compete and farmers to achieve expected profits.
The new pepper season in Sri Lanka is expected to start from June, adding to the downward pressure on prices in the Indian market. Although Indian Malabar Gold pepper remains high in quality in the international market, the influx of cheap pepper from other countries will continue to limit the possibility of price increases in the near term.
