According to the Project on developing key industrial crops by 2030, Dak Nong province aims to maintain a pepper growing area of ​​about 33,600 hectares with an output of about 60,000 tons. The locality will switch from high-yield pepper cultivation to high-quality and sustainable pepper production, with an expected conversion of about 950 hectares of old pepper areas to crops with higher economic value.

At the same time, Dak Nong will also expand the area of ​​organic pepper production to about 950 hectares, concentrated in key districts such as Dak Song, Dak R'lap, and Tuy Duc. In addition, the province will apply scientific and technological advances to the production process to improve productivity and product quality, while protecting the ecological environment.

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,794 USD/ton (up 0.31%), and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,302 USD/ton (up 0.32%).

The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper was at USD 6,400/ton. The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper remained stable at USD 8,700/ton; the price of this country's ASTA white pepper reached USD 11,200/ton.

Vietnamese black pepper prices are stable today, trading at 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,800 USD/ton; white pepper prices at 9,500 USD/ton.

According to a preliminary report by the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in the first 15 days of October, Vietnam exported 9,039 tons of pepper, earning 58.3 million USD. From the beginning of the year to mid-October, the total export volume reached 209,933 tons, with a turnover of 1.05 billion USD, although down 6.9% in volume but up 38.8% in value compared to the same period last year.

The US remained the largest market for Vietnamese pepper, accounting for 31.7% of the market share with 2,865 tonnes. Olam was the leading exporter during the period with 1,424 tonnes, accounting for 15.8% of total exports. In addition, during the same period, Vietnam imported 2,295 tonnes of pepper, mainly from Indonesia with 1,824 tonnes, equivalent to 79.5% of total import volume.

In the first 15 days of October, Vietnam's pepper import turnover reached 13.7 million USD. Major importers during this period included Tran Chau (407 tons), Harris Spice (360 tons), Phuc Sinh (350 tons), Olam Vietnam (342 tons) and Phuc Thinh (327 tons). With the recovery in prices, Vietnam's pepper exports have surpassed the 1 billion USD mark after only 9.5 months and are likely to increase further in the last two months of the year.
