Pepper price today, September 23, is at 147,000 - 150,000 VND/kg. The year-end pepper purchasing momentum is expected to push Vietnamese pepper prices up and escape the 150,000 VND/kg mark.

Domestic pepper prices

Pepper prices today, September 23, in key growing areas fluctuated. Accordingly, the domestic pepper price level remained at 147,000 VND/kg to 150,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 150,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Gia Lai is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 147,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Lam Dong (old Dak Nong) decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 149,000 VND/kg.

The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that pepper prices will continue to fluctuate in the coming time, depending on the weather in growing areas and import demand from major markets.

From next month, localities will begin the coffee harvest season with the expectation of a good harvest and good prices. The excitement is widespread as coffee prices remain high. However, the strong capital flow into the coffee business may cause some dealers to sell off pepper to rotate, creating short-term downward pressure on prices.

However, pepper price at 150,000 VND/kg is still considered a balanced zone and can rebound at the end of the year when purchasing demand improves.

Vietnam’s pepper currently has an advantage as domestic prices remain high, exports are stable and international demand remains strong. This is considered a bright spot after many years of market fluctuations.

This week, the most likely scenario is that prices will remain flat or decrease slightly in the range of 144,000 - 152,000 VND/kg. If exports increase sharply, the domestic market may surpass the 150,000 VND/kg mark.

On the contrary, if there is a local sell-off from farmers, pepper prices may fall to the range of 140,000 - 144,000 VND/kg, but this possibility is not high in the short term.
