Pepper price today August 24, 2025 is at 143,500 - 146,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. This is the 5th consecutive day of increase in the domestic market.
Domestic pepper prices
Pepper prices today in key growing areas have increased sharply compared to yesterday. Accordingly, the domestic pepper price level is from 143,500 VND/kg to 146,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak continued to increase by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 146,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price today in Gia Lai increased by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 143,500 VND/kg.
Pepper price today in Lam Dong (old Dak Nong) is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 146,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper price today in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is currently at 144,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. Dong Nai is unchanged from yesterday at 144,000 VND/kg.
In addition, today's pepper price in Dong Nai (formerly Binh Phuoc) remained unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 144,000 VND/kg.

Domestic pepper prices continued to increase slightly early this morning, with an increase of VND1,000/kg compared to the same time yesterday. This is the fifth consecutive increase this week. According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), pepper prices are expected to increase further due to high global demand while supply remains limited.
To meet market demand and increase income, many farmers in the West of Gia Lai province have switched to growing green pepper in the off-season. This method helps increase the value of the crop and helps farmers be more proactive in the face of market fluctuations.
The price of off-season green pepper currently ranges from 50,000 to 70,000 VND/kg, 1.5 to 2 times higher than the main season. In particular, from April to July, pepper prices can reach 110,000 - 120,000 VND/kg.
In Kon Gang commune, many households have applied new pepper varieties and off-season models. After only 3 years, the pepper garden has yielded an average of about 12 kg of fresh pepper per pillar. Currently, each hectare of green pepper can bring in a profit of 500 million VND/year. The products are exported to Thailand, so the output is quite stable.
Pepper price today August 24 in the world market
In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on August 23 (local time) as follows:
Indonesia's Lampung black pepper price decreased slightly compared to yesterday at USD 7,129/ton (down 0.35%). In addition, Muntok white pepper price decreased slightly compared to yesterday at USD 9,966/ton (down 0.35%).
Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,000/mt.
Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,600/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price also remained unchanged from yesterday at $12,800/ton.
Prices of all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,240 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,370 USD/ton.
Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 8,950/ton.
World pepper output in 2025 is estimated at 434,000 tonnes, similar to the previous year. Vietnam is expected to harvest 172,000 tonnes, down about 2% year-on-year and nearly half the record high of 2018/19. To make up for the shortfall, Vietnam’s pepper imports in the first half of the year increased by 57% to 28,000 tonnes.
While Vietnam’s output is expected to decline, Brazil’s is expected to reach 89,000 tonnes, up 26% thanks to improved productivity and expanded acreage. In contrast, India’s output is forecast to fall 20% due to adverse weather conditions, while Indonesia’s is estimated to reach 37,000 tonnes. Global pepper prices have stabilized after a surge in late 2024, but US tariffs continue to cause uncertainty, significantly impacting the Vietnamese market.
