Today's pepper prices in the domestic market (September 23, 2025)

Today, September 24th, pepper prices in key growing regions showed mixed trends. As a result, the average domestic pepper price remains at between 147,000 VND/kg and 150,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 150,000 VND/kg.

Today's pepper price in Gia Lai remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 147,000 VND/kg.

Today's pepper price in Lam Dong (formerly Dak Nong) decreased by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 149,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, today's pepper price in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is 150,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dong Nai also saw an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 150,000 VND/kg.

In addition, the price of pepper in Binh Phuoc today remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 147,000 VND/kg.

Domestic pepper prices remained stable throughout the past week, fluctuating between 144,000 and 152,000 VND/kg.

In the short term, pepper prices are unlikely to rise sharply, but may recover towards the end of the year as demand increases. In the long term, many experts are optimistic that with reduced global supply and low inventories, pepper prices are likely to increase.

A positive trend is the growing production of organic pepper in Vietnam. Many sustainable farming models have received international certification, helping to increase value and expand export markets to high-end countries.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market as of September 23 (local time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$7,027/ton. Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices decreased slightly from yesterday to US$9,957/ton.

Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,600 per ton.

Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,700/tonne. Similarly, ASTA white pepper prices also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$12,900/tonne.

Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) is 6,600 USD/ton; and the price of 550 gr/l is 6,800 USD/ton.

In addition, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,250 per ton.

According to European data, in the first seven months of 2025, Germany imported 16.57 thousand tons of pepper from outside the EU, worth up to $135.59 million. Compared to the same period last year, the import volume increased by 26.6% and the value increased by 90.9%.

The average import price in July was $8,530 per ton, a slight decrease compared to June but still 44.4% higher than the same period in 2024. Over the first seven months alone, the average price increased sharply by 51.2%.

Vietnam is the largest supplier of pepper to Germany, accounting for over 64% in both volume and value. Brazil ranks second with a share of approximately 23%. Notably, imports from both Vietnam and Brazil have seen very strong growth in value.

Besides these two main sources, Germany has also increased its pepper imports from Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and several other markets.
