This year, the high price of coffee has caused traders to need more capital, leading some to sell pepper to raise money for investment. Many people are still patiently holding on to their pepper, waiting for the price to increase to sell, although many are also worried and discouraged because the price of pepper has not met expectations.

However, the market still has positive signals for those who are hoarding pepper waiting for prices to rise. Demand from China and the year-end festival season are expected to create great momentum. In addition, Vietnam's pepper harvest next year is forecast to be delayed by a month, adding to concerns about supply.

Recently, the world market has also received a large amount of pepper from Indonesia's harvest, causing China to take advantage of the opportunity to buy a lot. However, after this crop, the supply until February next year has not been significantly supplemented, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese pepper before entering next year's harvest.

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,724 USD/ton, and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,205 USD/ton.

Vietnamese black pepper prices are stable today, trading at 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,800 USD/ton; white pepper prices at 9,500 USD/ton.

On October 27, pepper prices in key regions continued to decline. Experts predict that domestic pepper prices are likely to continue to decline in the coming days, due to abundant supply and consumption demand that has yet to show clear signs of improvement.

According to the International Pepper Community, the market this week was quite negative, with no region recording any price increase. Pepper prices in India, both domestically and internationally, have been on a downward trend over the past month. In Indonesia, pepper prices remained stable. The high USD also contributed to restraining the increase in pepper prices in exporting countries.

In the international market, pepper prices are expected to fluctuate slightly and not have major fluctuations in the short term thanks to stability in major markets such as Brazil, Malaysia and Vietnam. However, downward pressure still exists as agricultural companies, agents and intermediaries sell pepper to mobilize capital for investment in coffee, an agricultural product that is in the harvest season.
