USD price increased sharply

The USD exchange rate today, September 14, 2023, rebounded strongly. The world USD exchange rate also increased strongly before the US CPI data. The central USD/VND exchange rate announced by the State Bank was 24,995 VND/USD, an increase of 14 VND compared to the listed rate on September 13.

Currently, the USD exchange rate that commercial banks are allowed to trade is from 23,400 - 25,155 VND/USD. The selling exchange rate is also adjusted by the State Bank Exchange to the buying and selling range of 23,400 - 25,155 VND/USD.

The USD exchange rate at banks and domestic foreign exchange rates this morning recorded a series of upward adjustments at banks. Specifically, Vietcombank increased 60 VND for the buying price to 23,980 and the selling price to 24,320. The buying and selling prices of USD are currently in the range of 23,400 - 25,300 VND/USD.

Japanese Yen Exchange Ratecontinue to decline

Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed on the morning of September 14, 2023 at banks, specifically as follows:

At Vietcombank, the buying rate is 159.88 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 169.28 VND/JPY, down 0.48 VND and 0.57 VND respectively.

At Vietinbank, the Yen exchange rate increased by 0.08 VND in both buying and selling directions, equivalent to 159.79 VND/JPY and 169.49 VND/JPY.

At BIDV, the buying rate increased by 0.25 VND and the selling rate increased by 0.06 VND to 160.45 VND/JPY and 168.76 VND/JPY.

At Agribank, the buying and selling rates are 161.34 VND/JPY and 165.37 VND/JPY, respectively – down 0.33 VND for buying and down 0.35 VND for selling.

At Eximbank, the buying and selling rates decreased by 0.26 VND at the buying rate and 0.29 VND at the selling rate, respectively to 161.43 VND/JPY and 165.94 VND/JPY. At Techcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.14 VND at the buying rate and 0.4 VND at the selling rate, respectively to 157.33 VND/JPY and 169.61 VND/JPY. At Sacombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.24 VND at the buying rate, corresponding to 161.43 VND/JPY, and decreased by 0.19 VND at the selling rate, corresponding to 168.01 VND/JPY.

Thus, Eximbank and Sacombank are the two banks with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and Agribank is the bank with the lowest selling rate among the surveyed banks.

Gold prices plummet

At the time of survey at 5:30 a.m. on September 14, 2023, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was as follows:

The prices of 9999, SJC, 24K, DOJI, and PNJ gold plummeted. World gold prices continued to fall below the $1,910/ounce mark.

DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 68.00 million VND/tael for buying and 68.80 million VND/tael for selling.

At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 68.20 - 68.55 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 68.05 - 68.68 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 68.05 - 68.68 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

Domestic coffee prices slightly decreased

Domestic coffee prices were updated at 4:20 a.m. on September 14, 2023 as follows: Coffee prices continue to be stable, the average coffee price in the Central Highlands provinces is 64,400 VND/kg, of which the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 65,800 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces on September 14 was 64,300 VND/kg. In Dak Nong province, coffee was purchased at the highest price of 65,800 VND/kg.

The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 64,900 VND/kg.

In Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province, coffee price is currently at 65,600 VND/kg. In Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 65,700 VND/kg.
