World gold price today September 18, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:00 a.m. on September 18, Vietnam time, was 3,684.36 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 1.82 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,457 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 117.5 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the gold bar price is 14.8 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

In the trading session on September 17 in Asia, gold prices adjusted down after reaching a record high in the previous session. The main reason was due to the slight increase in the USD and many investors taking advantage of the profit-taking period after the hot increase.
Specifically, spot gold prices fell 0.05% at 4:00 a.m. (Vietnam time), after reaching a historic peak of 3,702.95 USD/ounce. The December gold futures contract in the US also fell 0.17% to 3,719.02 USD/ounce.
Analysts say the gold market is volatile due to expectations that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will cut interest rates. Many forecasts suggest that the reduction will be around 25 basis points, bringing the benchmark interest rate down to the range of 4.00% - 4.25%. If the Fed lowers interest rates, the cost of holding gold will decrease, which could further support the price of gold.
In the country, the difference between buying and selling gold at many large enterprises has widened to 2.5 - 3 million VND/tael. Experts warn that this is a high risk level, especially for short-term investors. Investors are advised to be cautious to avoid losses when prices fluctuate unexpectedly.
In addition to price risks, the market also faces increasing fraud. When gold prices rise, many people take advantage of people's FOMO psychology to create fake fanpages, websites or Facebook accounts of reputable brands. They copy logos, images and identical content to create trust, then advertise promotional gold or ask customers to transfer deposits but never deliver the goods.
According to Bao Tin Minh Chau, in just two days, this company has verified 11 cases of customers being tricked into buying gold in the above form. Doji Group also had to continuously issue warnings when recording some investors losing billions of dong due to believing in fake information. Phu Quy Group has repeatedly posted articles warning customers about the situation of scammers creating fake fanpages for profit.
Besides monitoring gold prices, investors and people need to be especially vigilant with unofficial online trading channels.
