World gold price today September 16, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 6:00 a.m. on September 16, Vietnam time, was 3,661.93 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 16.7 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,476 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 116.7 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of gold bars is 14.4 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
New economic data released showed that US inflation increased the most in the past 7 months, while the labor market weakened. The market is almost certain that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will cut 25 basis points at this week's meeting. Some forecasts say the cut is as high as 50 points. In this context, the world gold price target is aiming at the mark of 3700 USD/ounce, with important resistance levels at 3730 and 3743 USD/ounce.
Domestically, an issue attracting the attention of investors is the proposal to include gold trading in the personal income tax category.
In Resolution 278 dated September 13, the Government requested that the draft revised Law on Personal Income Tax must clearly stipulate the taxation of income from gold trading. The main goal is to create more transparency for the market, while limiting speculation that causes gold prices to fluctuate erratically.
The Ministry of Finance and the State Bank will coordinate to unify this content in the draft law. According to experts, this is a reasonable direction. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu, former Director of the General Department of Taxation, said that selling gold worth hundreds of millions of dong without paying tax is unfair compared to many other types of transactions.
He cited that currently, online business people are still paying personal income tax of 1-2%. Securities transactions are subject to tax of 0.1% and real estate transactions are subject to tax of 2%. Therefore, applying tax to gold trading activities is completely appropriate and has actually been stipulated in the law before, it just has not been fully implemented.
