The race 'Journey following Uncle Ho's footsteps - For the security of the Fatherland' officially begins
On the morning of May 4, at Ho Chi Minh Square, more than 2,000 athletes officially started the race "Journey following Uncle Ho's footsteps - For the security of the Fatherland".
This is a key sporting event within the framework ofLotus Village Festival 2025, towards the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the People's Public Security force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).

The race was jointly organized by the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association, VnExpress Newspaper and Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, with 3 competition distances: 5 km, 10 km and 21 km half marathon. Athletes started and finished at Ho Chi Minh Square, running through the main streets of Vinh city such as Truong Thi, Lenin and Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard.

The starting time is from 4:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on the same day, to ensure favorable weather conditions and safety for the athletes. The award ceremony takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ho Chi Minh Square.
The race had the participation of many famous athletes in the sports movement such as Le Van Huong, Lo Van Hong, Dao Duy Thach, Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh and Doan Thi Oanh..., along with the presence of officers and soldiers of Nghe An Police.
To ensure safety and convenience for the race, from 3:30 to 8:30 a.m. on May 4, the authorities deployed a plan.ban and traffic diversionon the routes of the race, at the same time, arrange mobile medical stations, ambulances and support forces along the running route.

The race "Journey following Uncle Ho's footsteps - For the security of the Fatherland" is not only a meaningful sports activity, but also an opportunity for people and the People's Public Security force to review revolutionary traditions, promote patriotism, responsibility for the security of the Fatherland and promote the strong development of the mass sports movement.
