(Baonghean.vn) - After 9 days of actively drilling rocks to clear the road due to a landslide, the traffic management unit and local government forces have cleared a large block of rocks, opening National Highway 48E through Tan Long commune (Tan Ky district).

Accordingly, the impact of storm No. 4, National Highway 48E section through Tan Long commune (Tan Ky) occurred.rock collapse of about 6,500m3, including a large rock over 200m3blocking the road
The traffic management unit used a PC600 crawler excavator and a large drill to actively break the rock, but because the rock was large and very hard, the drilling progress was slow. After 9 days of drilling (from October 1-9), the road was cleared with a width of about 3.5 meters.

Mr. Phan Van Giap - Chairman of Tan Ky District People's Committee said: Although the road has been cleared, National Highway 48E section through Tan Long commune still has potential risks because on the top of the mountain there are many large hanging rocks that can roll down at any time.

In the near future, the Vietnam Road Administration will survey the scene at this location to come up with plans to release the hanging rocks to ensure the safety of people's lives and vehicles.
Currently, the districtTan Kyis directing the two communes of Tan Long and Nghia Hoan to place warning signs of the danger of falling rocks due to landslides in this area so that people can proactively take precautions, especially when it is forecasted that there will continue to be heavy rain.
