Resolving a conflict on an overpass, one person was slashed to death

(Baonghean.vn) - A group of young men had a conflict while singing karaoke and made an appointment to meet at the railway overpass (Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city) to resolve it. Thao took a sword and slashed Phuc in the head, seriously injuring the victim and causing his death the next day.

On November 1, the Nghe An Provincial Police Department was still detaining a suspect involved in a fight at a railway overpass (Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city) that left one person dead.

Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. on October 28, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Linh (from Nam Dan district) celebrated his birthday at a rented room in Quan Bau ward, Vinh city.

At the party, Nguyen Duy Dong (24 years old, a construction worker in Vinh City); Nguyen Duy Thao (18 years old, a security guard for Cuong Thinh Company, on Mai Hac De Street, Vinh City); Nguyen Duy Cuong (18 years old) and Nguyen Sy Minh (18 years old), residing in Thanh Luong Commune, Thanh Chuong District, attended.

After the drinking session, at around 7pm, the group of young people went to sing karaoke on Dang Thai Mai Street, Nghi Kim Commune, Vinh City. During the singing, Dong and Thao had a conflict with Minh, leading to the two sides challenging each other to a fight.

Minh called Nguyen Tho Phuc and Nguyen Sy Trung to inform them about the conflict with Dong and Thao. When leaving, Phuc invited Nguyen Viet Trung (24 years old), from Hai Phong City, residing in Vinh City. They all went to the Karaoke bar on Dang Thai Mai Street.

Here, two groups of young men challenged each other and made an appointment to meet at the railway overpass in Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city to resolve the conflict.

Before arriving at the meeting point, Thao and Dong rode a motorbike to Cuong Thinh Company (where Thao worked as a security guard), got a sword about 1 meter long, a sharp knife (Thai knife type) and then called a taxi to go to the meeting point.

Minh carried a sword and sat on the back of a motorbike driven by Phuc to wait for Thao to arrive. Nguyen Viet Trung, Nguyen Sy Thao and some other young men in Minh's group of friends arrived later.

At around 9:40 p.m. the same day, a group of young men started fighting. During the fight, Thao grabbed a sword and slashed Phuc in the head. Phuc collapsed on the street, lying motionless, and was then taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, Phuc was transferred to Viet Duc Hospital (Hanoi) but died at 3:00 p.m. on October 29.

Upon receiving the news, Vinh City Police arrived at the scene, coordinated with the Provincial Police Criminal Police Department and related departments to examine the scene and investigate the suspects who caused the stabbing.

At 8:00 p.m. on October 29, the criminal investigation force arrested Nguyen Duy Thao. On November 1, the provincial police investigation agency initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused, and detained Thao to investigate and clarify the murder.

The case is being further investigated by the Nghe An Provincial Police Department.
