Hospital director arrested for murder out of jealousy

On April 9, Tien Giang Provincial Police announced that the Investigation Police Agency had urgently arrested Mr. Nguyen Van Nguu (57 years old), Director of Cai Lay Regional General Hospital to investigate the act of "Killing”.

According to initial verification, at around 11:30 p.m. on March 11, the Criminal Police Department of Tien Giang Province received a report of a suspected murder case that occurred on National Highway 1, through My Thanh Nam Commune, Cai Lay District. The victim was Ms. Vo Thi Muoi (43 years old, residing in Cai Lay District).

At that time, Ms. Muoi was driving a motorbike carrying a man on National Highway 1, from Cai Lay to Cai Be, when suddenly two young men on a motorbike overtook her and stabbed her in the ribs with a knife. Ms. Muoi fell and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment but died.

The Criminal Police Department of Tien Giang Province coordinated with professional units to examine the scene and perform an autopsy to serve the investigation.

Identifying this as a particularly serious and complicated case, the Director of Tien Giang Provincial Police Department directed the establishment of a special investigation project, assigned Colonel Nguyen Van Loc - Deputy Director as Head of the Committee, focused forces on conducting investigation activities, synchronously applied professional measures, organized the fight, and arrested the subjects.

Through investigation, on April 8, the professional units of Tien Giang Provincial Police arrested and urgently searched the suspects Nguyen Van Nguu, Huynh Duc Trong (aka Trong Mat, 37 years old), Nguyen Ngoc Hau (aka Hau Ma Voi, 25 years old, all residing in Cai Be district) and Le Quoc Dat (aka Hugo, 34 years old, residing in Cai Lay town).

Dat was arrested while undergoing compulsory drug rehabilitation in Tri Ton district, An Giang. Police seized evidence related to the case.

Initially, the suspects admitted to all their crimes. Police said that the initial cause of the murder was jealousy.

"The subjects had prepared tools and means of committing crimes and prepared tricks to deal with the investigation agency," said Tien Giang Provincial Police.
