Director of Yen Bai Department of Planning: I am being investigated for 'signs of bribing' journalists

The Director of the Department of Planning and Investment hopes that the "truth" will be verified soon because public opinion in recent days has caused"greatly affected his family life and work". However, he refused to answer in detail information related to the "transaction" with Mr. Phong.

Information that Le Duy Phong received 200 million VND from Mr. Sang was announced on June 28 at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Public Security. Lieutenant GeneralDo Kim Tuyen (Deputy Director General of General Department of Police)saidOn June 16, Le Duy Phong went to Yen Bai province to meet with the Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, stating some violations of the Department, and asked for 200 million VND to resolve the matter. "Mr. Sang did not have enough money, so he handed over 100 million VND in advance. The remaining amount was transferred in the afternoon," Lieutenant General Tuyen informed.

On June 22, also in Yen Bai, Le Duy Phong was caught red-handed by the city police receiving 50 million VND from a business in a restaurant. The next day, Le Duy Phong was prosecuted by the Yen Bai city police for the act ofabuse of position and power to appropriate property

According to Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police,Yen Bai City Police reported to the investigation agency that Le Duy Phong admitted to holding 50 million VND. The fact that Mr. Sang gave 200 million VND to Le Duy Phong will be verified.Is there any "signs of bribery"?The Ministry of Public Security has sent someone to supervise the Yen Bai Police's investigation of the case.
