On July 27, the working delegation of Nghe An Department of Health led by Ms. Le Thi Hoai Chung - Director of Nghe An Department of Health directly directed and supported flood recovery work at Tuong Duong Medical Center, Ky Son and My Ly, Chau Khe, Bong Khe Medical Stations.
Joining the delegation were leaders of the Provincial Center for Disease Control, Nghe An General Hospital, Nghe An Oncology Hospital and Nghe An Orthopedic Trauma Hospital.
Bring Xiangyang Medical Center back into operation as soon as possible

After the floodwaters receded, Xiangyang Medical Center was submerged in mud and trash. Many types of machines such as X-ray machines, ventilators, oxygen machines, sterilizers, autoclaves, cars... and even medical equipment and medicine were damaged. The center's medical examination and treatment activities were paralyzed.

In order to soon put Tuong Duong Medical Center back into operation and provide medical examination and treatment for people, Nghe An Department of Health has directed officers, civil servants and employees of Tuong Duong Medical Center to coordinate with functional forces to clean up mud and repair damaged facilities and machinery.
As of July 27, flood relief work at Xiangyang Medical Center is still underway. The amount of work that needs to be done, such as cleaning and repairs, is enormous. This unit still needs more time to be able to operate normally again.

Inspecting the flood recovery work, Director of the Department of Health Le Thi Hoai Chung directed Tuong Duong Medical Center to urgently compile statistics, report damages and list equipment needs to synthesize and call for support from resources inside and outside the industry.
In the long term, Tuong Duong Medical Center also needs to study the plan to move and arrange departments with modern medical equipment to the 2nd floor area to avoid possible flood losses in the future.

To ensure the right to medical examination and treatment for people in the mountainous area of the old Tuong Duong district, the Director of Nghe An Department of Health has directed the Southwest Regional General Hospital to dispatch 2 ambulances to stand by at Tuong Duong Medical Center to pick up patients for treatment, in the context that Tuong Duong Medical Center cannot operate yet.

At Tuong Duong Medical Center, Director of Nghe An Department of Health Le Thi Hoai Chung presented support and encouragement to the unit including cash, medicine, medical equipment, and necessary necessities; and provided support and encouragement to patients and medical staff who suffered heavy losses due to the flood.
The working group of the Department of Health also transferred similar support to Nhon Mai Health Station through Tuong Duong Health Center. At this time, Nhon Mai commune was still divided.

Rebuild My Ly Medical Station as soon as possible
The historic flood caused by storm No. 3 (Wipha) has caused severe damage to many medical facilities in the province. In the old Ky Son district, Muong Tip and Muong Ai Medical Stations were isolated by floodwaters and could not carry out normal medical examination and treatment activities. Meanwhile, My Ly Medical Station was completely swept away by the flood...

My Ly commune has 1,247 households and nearly 6,000 people. Because the commune is nearly 70 km from Ky Son Medical Center, people here often use health care services at the commune health station. In this situation, on July 26, Nghe An Department of Health directed Ky Son Medical Center and My Ly Medical Station to set up a field health station.
The Director of the Department of Health requested the Director of Ky Son Medical Center to directly supervise the activities of My Ly Field Medical Station, report on medical examination and treatment at the station and propose solutions to promptly resolve difficulties.

At the same time, the Director of the Department of Health requested the Department's Financial Planning Department to quickly review, select locations, plan, and develop implementation plans to advise the Department's Board of Directors to build My Ly Medical Station as quickly as possible.


Previously, Director of Nghe An Department of Health Le Thi Hoai Chung issued a call for units in the whole industry to join hands to support the reconstruction of My Ly Medical Station. Responding to the call, Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital purchased all necessary equipment for a medical station including 23 categories of equipment and generators, solar energy systems to donate to My Ly Medical Station. Today (July 28), all of this equipment will be promptly transported to the Medical Station for operation.
Providing timely support to Ky Son Medical Center and medical stations to overcome difficulties and quickly overcome flood damage, the Director of the Department of Health and the working group presented encouragement gifts to the unit including cash, medicine, medical equipment, and necessary necessities; and presented gifts to patients and medical staff who suffered heavy damage due to the flood.

During the day, the working delegation of the Department of Health also came to give gifts and encourage the staff of Chau Khe and Bong Khe Health Stations; and directed the Stations to carry out well the work of epidemic prevention and hygiene, and provide medical examination and treatment for people in flooded areas.
