Doctor Trinh Xuan Nam - Deputy Director of Nghe An General Hospital said: Patients from Ha Tinh as well as patients from epidemic areas with epidemiological factors and clinical signs (fever, cough, difficulty breathing, lung damage) are all required and instructed by the hospital to undergo screening at the Tropical Disease Center. At this time, the hospital has increased human resources and equipment for the Center. The Tropical Disease Center is like a miniature hospital with an operating room, testing system, X-ray machine, ultrasound, delivery room... ensuring most medical examination and treatment techniques.

In cases requiring high-tech intervention, patients with epidemiological factors will be tested for Covid-19 by the hospital, fully equipped with protective gear, and transferred from the Tropical Disease Center to the departments. In the departments, medical staff are fully equipped with protective gear; before and after deploying high-tech, the entire room and machinery will be disinfected.

Doctor Trinh Xuan Nam also shared his concerns: The hospital has fully planned, implemented all screening and epidemic prevention measures, and is ready to respond to all epidemic situations. However, the most worrying thing is that Covid-19 patients have no clinical symptoms and no epidemiological factors (like the case of medical staff at Ha Tinh General Hospital). To overcome this, the hospital will increase screening and Covid-19 testing for patients, relatives and medical staff.

On the morning of June 8, Ms. Phan Thi Hoa took her mother, Le Thi Tinh (71 years old), in Tung Anh commune, Duc Tho district, who had a stroke, to the Nghe An General Hospital for emergency treatment. Anticipating that the Covid-19 epidemic situation in Ha Tinh would become complicated, on June 6, the Nghe An Department of Health issued Document No. 2102/SYT-NVY on strengthening the implementation of epidemic prevention measures at medical examination and treatment facilities to the Center for Disease Control, Medical Centers of districts, cities and towns, and public and non-public medical examination and treatment facilities.

The Director of the Department of Health requested: Medical examination and treatment facilities must strictly implement the set of criteria for safe hospitals in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic according to Decision 3088 dated July 16, 2020 of the Ministry of Health; properly carry out screening examinations right at the hospital gate, not just for formality; in the clinic area, there must be an isolation examination room, the emergency and treatment department must also have an isolation room for suspected cases.

When receiving patients returning from epidemic areas (localities implementing Directives 15 and 16), it is necessary to require detailed medical declarations, place patients in quarantine areas and conduct tests. Medical examination and treatment facilities need to regularly screen inpatients; conduct extensive testing for medical staff, patients and relatives during this period (completed before June 20); strictly implement the 5K recommendations at hospitals, limit unnecessary services; ensure epidemic prevention according to the "4 on-site" motto, fully equipped with necessary equipment; pay attention to epidemic prevention solutions for medical staff and related service staff; enhance information technology in performing tasks... proactively deploy epidemic prevention and control measures in a reasonable manner, neither negative nor subjective.
