Nghe An is the largest province in the country with a population of over 3.4 million people, of which ethnic minorities and mountainous areas account for 36.3%, and illiteracy and re-illiteracy in the area are still high. Most of the illiterate people live scattered in remote villages, making the journey to eradicate illiteracy in the highlands of Nghe An even more arduous.
