(Baonghean.vn) - A young man who committed suicide by eating poison ivy was promptly saved by the military medical staff of Tri Le Border Guard Station (Nghe An Province Border Guard) in coordination with local medical staff.

On the evening of February 23, Mr. Ha Van C (born in 1996), residing in Yen Son village, Tri Le commune (Que Phong), due to family conflicts and arguments with his wife, ate poison leaves and committed suicide.

Military doctors of Tri Le Border Guard Station and doctors of Tri Le Commune Health Station (Que Phong) urgently provided first aid to victim Ha Van C who ate poison ivy to commit suicide.
Mr. C. was brought to Tri Le Commune Health Station by his family in a state of severe poisoning, with his whole body turning purple, having difficulty breathing, and a weak pulse, and his life in danger. Doctors and nurses from the Tri Le Border Post Military and Civilian Medical Clinic and the Commune Health Station urgently treated the victim. After nearly 3 hours of intensive first aid, the patient's purpleness was gone, and he had less difficulty breathing and talking. Currently, the patient's health is recovering and progressing well.

It is known that since the beginning of 2020, the unit's medical force has coordinated with local doctors and nurses to save the lives of 3 victims who committed suicide by eating poison ivy leaves using folk remedies.
