Volleyball match raises nearly 20 million VND to help families in difficult circumstances

(Baonghean.vn) - At the end of the charity volleyball tournament, the organizers awarded nearly 20 million VND to support the family of Mr. Dinh Bat Hoan - a household in difficult circumstances in Thanh Yen commune, Thanh Chuong district.

Mr. Dinh Bat Hoan's family in Quang Dinh hamlet, Thanh Yen commune is considered a near-poor household, and their family situation is already difficult. Not long ago, while working as a construction worker, Mr. Hoan had an accident at work, breaking his cervical vertebrae.

After being transferred to a hospital in Hanoi, he was transferred to Nghe An because his family did not have enough money for surgery.

In order to help Mr. Hoan's family, the Thanh Yen Commune Red Cross Society, Thanh Yen Commune Youth Union coordinated with departments, branches, organizations, localities and Hung Thai Nghia Volunteer Group (Nam Dan) to organize a volleyball exchange to raise charity funds.

On October 30, at Thanh Yen commune volleyball court, 11 teams of both men and women from Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan districts and Vinh city competed, many local people came to cheer and support charity.

After a day of exciting competition, the tournament ended. The first prize in men's volleyball went to Thanh Yen commune (Thanh Chuong). The women's team from Kim Lien commune (Nam Dan) won the first prize in women's volleyball. The organizing committee raised 15 million VND to help Mr. Hoan's family.

In the evening of the same day, representatives of Hung Thai Nghia Volunteer Group (Nam Dan), Red Cross Society, Thanh Yen Commune Youth Union... visited and gave nearly 20 million VND to Mr. Hoan's family (including money that Hung Thai Nghia Volunteer Group had called for donations on social networks earlier) to help him have more funds for treatment./.
