In recent days, floods have caused serious damage to many schools and teachers' families. In their difficulties, they have received timely help and support from their colleagues.

Give love and receive love

Just one day after the historic flood passed through the mountainous communes of Nghe An, teacher Nguyen Thi Hai Yen - Deputy Head of the Preschool Education Department of the Department of Education and Training sent a message to a private group of women working in the industry. In the content, she shared her desire to collect old clothes to make a wardrobe in Tuong Duong and Ky Son to support people in the flooded areas, anyone in need can come and get it.

Initially, because she was afraid of not being able to transport it in time, she thought she would mobilize a small amount and not turn on public mode. However, after only two days, contrary to her expectations, she received a lot of clothes, food, medicine and cash from many colleagues in the industry. At Hoa Sen Kindergarten, even though it was a day off, in response to the program, teachers in the school volunteered to come to the school to both donate and neatly arrange all the old clothes.

The fact that many people supported fish sauce, rice, peanuts, laundry detergent, etc. forced Ms. Yen to change her plans because she could not travel by personal vehicle. A younger brother lent her a pickup truck and then another volunteered to be the driver. The first trip started at around midnight, around 1:30 a.m., because the sisters were afraid of rain and traffic jams. After more than 7 hours, the group of 3 people reached Ky Son and directly delivered gifts to teachers in the industry that had suffered heavy losses due to the flood.

During this trip, she also had time to meet some teachers working in My Ly commune to send relief goods to teachers and the school.

Returning home late at night, Ms. Yen said: I have worked in a mountainous district for many years and experienced loss, so I sympathize with the difficulties and hardships of teachers in remote areas. Therefore, when the flood occurred, I did not think about the danger but simply thought about how to help my colleagues, how to help them get through this difficult period. During the process of going to Ky Son, we were extremely worried and stressed, but when we returned home, we received messages from our colleagues expressing our thanks, and we were very happy. I believe that "giving love will receive love".

Teachers share

Five days have passed, but the life of teacher Tran Thuy Dung's family - Tra Lan Secondary School (Con Cuong Commune) has not yet returned to normal. Her family lives in Tien Thanh village, one of the areas heavily affected by the storm.floodin the early morning of July 23. The flood passed, the water level in her house rose more than 1 meter and was submerged in mud. Immediately after the water receded, the board of directors of Tra Lan Secondary School mobilized all teachers to go to her family and the flooded houses in the school to clean up the house together. Since July 23rd until now, because there is no clean water, no electricity, all daily living equipment is flooded and cannot be repaired, so her colleagues brought her food and water to encourage her family to overcome the difficulties.

Teacher Thuy Dung shared: After the flood, although my family was affected quite a lot and it may take some time to restore our lives. However, I feel very warm because when I am in trouble, my colleagues are always there to share and support me.

Immediately after the Education sector launched a campaign to support flood relief, many schools in Nghe An province organized donations and organized many trips to mountainous communes to support teachers, students and people in flooded areas.

At the provincial Ethnic Boarding High School, due to the nature of the school, where students are mainly from highland communes, immediately after the flood ended, the school contacted the students to visit and grasp the damage situation. This afternoon (July 28), after 8 hours of traveling, the school's principal and teachers also went to the communes of Tuong Duong, Muong Xen, Huu Kiem, and Con Cuong to directly give gifts to the families of students affected by the flood.

Through discussion, teacher Nguyen Thi Kieu Hoa - Principal of the school said: Because many places do not have communication signal, up to this point we have only counted 22 families of students who suffered heavy damage such as houses collapsed due to landslides, all furniture and houses were swept away, all livestock were lost, including students who are in very difficult circumstances such as orphans, parents with illnesses...

Some colleagues also suffered losses. Therefore, after the road was cleared, with many sources mobilized from teachers, parents and some sponsors, we prepared goods and necessities to visit and encourage the children.

Although the gifts are not big, they are the sincere love and sharing that teachers and schools send to the children and their families. Hopefully, with that companionship, the children will soon overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and enter the new school year with a strong mindset.
