Startled at red light
(Baonghean) - Honking loudly when the red light has 3-5 seconds left or stopping in the priority lane for vehicles turning right... are bad behaviors when participating in traffic of many people in Vinh city.
Slow down, stop and... honk
Vinh City is developing rapidly with a traffic infrastructure system that is increasingly invested in a systematic and modern way to meet the travel needs of the people. In particular, in recent years, Vinh is one of the localities with a "hot" growth rate in personal vehicles such as cars, motorbikes, and motorbikes, so such investments are even more necessary. However, besides the investment in traffic infrastructure, a very important issue to ensure safety and a smooth traffic system depends largely on the awareness of each person.

At many red light stops, many people honk loudly when the red light has only 4-5 seconds left. In the photo at the intersection of Ho Tung Mau and Nguyen Van Cu streets, Vinh City, a traffic participant runs a red light. (Taken at 2:00 p.m. on June 29, 2016) |
Every day, when we participate in traffic, we certainly encounter bad behaviors that make many road users feel "unpleasant to the ears and eyes".
Many times traveling on Ho Tung Mau, Quang Trung, Truong Thi streets... right at the points and intersections controlled by traffic lights, when encountering a red light, I and many others obeyed the light signals.
These are all traffic axes at the entrance of Vinh city with a large volume of traffic, especially during rush hours. Therefore, in just a split second, a large number of cars and motorbikes stop. When the red light signal has only 3-5 seconds left, immediately behind many vehicle owners, both cars and motorbikes, honk loudly to urge the vehicle owners in front to move.
Meanwhile, the red light has not turned green yet, so the vehicle in front cannot move. This behavior causes discomfort for many people participating in traffic. More seriously, when hearing the horn, many vehicle owners who stop in front are startled and immediately accelerate in the middle of the intersection, giving priority to other directions of movement, causing traffic safety problems and in fact this is not uncommon.
Red light, parking blocking right turn
On the other hand, at many intersections of roads in Vinh City, drivers have the right of way to turn right when stopping at a red light. However, if you observe, you will see that when the traffic light turns red, especially during rush hour, not many vehicles wanting to turn right can use their right of way.

Simply because the traffic participants who stopped at the traffic light had carelessly blocked the right turn lane. Therefore, many people could only wait for the red light to turn green to move; some people could not stand the "injustice" and immediately showed off their talent of weaving through the crowd with endless honks, making the whole road chaotic and noisy with many different sounds, of different intensities...
This is not just an individual's observation or opinion, but this issue has been reflected by many people and they feel very frustrated with the uncivilized behavior of many people when participating in traffic.
Vinh City is being invested in and built, striving to become the center of the North Central region in 10 areas. But before those goals become reality, each citizen of the city must be self-aware and build their city civilized through cultural actions, not only in traffic participation but also in many other areas.
You have stopped and waited for dozens of seconds at the red light, so why rush when there are only 4 - 5 seconds left... Therefore, consider when honking, observe and stop on the right side of the road when the light is red...
