Is a paper driving license invalid when it has been revoked on VNeID?
Since July 1, the Traffic Police force in many localities has simultaneously implemented Circular No. 28 of the Ministry of Public Security. Accordingly, the authorities have begun to inspect, process, temporarily detain, and revoke documents on the VNeID application.
To promptly implement Circular No. 28 of the Ministry of Public Security from July 1, 2024, local police have instructed relevant functional units to carry out inspection, handling, temporary detention, and revocation of documents on the VNeID application, thoroughly implementing it to 100% of officers and soldiers.
In Hanoi, on July 1, the Traffic Police handled a case of "failure to comply with traffic light signals" and revoked the driver's license (GPLX) of this person integrated on the VNeID application. The violator did not have his paper driver's license kept as before.
The Traffic Police Department (Hanoi City Police) also issued a notice asking people to proactively integrate relevant documents on the VNeID application to facilitate presentation when the authorities check and resolve administrative procedures.
Regarding the question of whether a paper driving license is still valid after being revoked on VNeID, a representative of the Hanoi Traffic Police Department said that from July 1, officers and soldiers on duty will check driving licenses and other documents of people on the VNeID application (if not yet integrated, they will be guided to integrate - PV).
"When traffic violators present their documents via the VNeID application, in case the documents must be temporarily detained, the traffic police will temporarily detain the documents in the electronic environment. At the same time, the police will update the information on the administrative violation handling database system and synchronize the VNeID application, the database managed by the Ministry of Public Security, so that violators and vehicle owners know.
In case the driver's license is temporarily suspended on the VNeID application, the hard copy will not be allowed to continue participating in traffic," said a representative of the Hanoi Traffic Police Department. In case the documents are temporarily suspended on the VNeID application, when completing the procedure to return the documents to the person being penalized, the competent person will synchronize the information with the national identification application and the database managed by the Ministry of Public Security to remove information about the temporary suspension and revocation of the right to use those documents.
